Children to arrive at 8:15 and they finish at 2:30. Lunch will be provided however they can take their packed lunch. They also need to be in Carcroft school uniform. Children need to make their own way there and back, transport is not something Carcroft provide.
After sports day we were in need of some nutrients so we made out own fruit salad! We looked at the sugar content but discussed that these were natural sugar that occurred in fruit.

Gates will open at 1:00pm and close at 1:10pm.
Children will go round the carousel of activities in their teams to try and earn the most points.
At the end of the sports day, children will sit in their teams on the grass for the winner to be announced, and parents can spectate this on the muga pitch. Children will then walk past for a last goodbye before entering back into school. The gate will be opened for parents at 2:30pm.
Once the children have exited back to school, parents can meet them back at their classroom door to take them home.
There will be a barrier that parents are not allowed past, in order to keep our children safe and keep the activities moving.
Thank you for your continued support

Carcroft was lucky to have a visit from the second fastest man in Britain – James Dasaolu. We were lucky to hear about the journey James took to reach the top of his sport and even compete at two Olympic Games.
James was very inspiring as he spoke about his lows and how it motivated him to reach the highs, which led to him setting the second fastest time in British history for the 100m. He ran a staggering 9.91 seconds, which was the equivalent of 25mph.
The children listened amazingly well and were hanging on James’ every word. They loved asking a variety of questions and some were unique, which James had never been asked before. After the the questions, each year group was lucky to have a circuit training session with James. He definitely put Years 1 to 6 through their paces.
We will be handing out the gold, silver and bronze awards when we receive them in due course. This should be soon.
Check out our video below of our awesome visitor:
This week has seen us testing and developing our culinary skills. To begin we have made some healthy tomato soup and it was great to see everyone trying it especially the children who said they don’t like soup. This really demonstrate a positive attitude to new things. Even better that some children have asked for the recipe so they can try it with their family.
Once we had finished our soup, we made some healthy pizzas. We have even been tried a gluten free pizza base today. This was so we could experience the food that one of our crew members has to eat due to having to follow a gluten free diet. Most of us couldn’t taste the difference which was great.
Best part was obviously tasting it. 😊
Healthy cookies on the menu tomorrow…
Well what a busy morning Crew MI have had! We have continued with our Design and Technology case study and today we have made a healthy tomato soup using a variety of ingredients. We all took an active part in peeling, chopping and preparing all the ingredients before we started to cook it. We concentrated well when following the recipe and ensured we all had an active part, voicing our views and helping others become engaged. We then looked at our pizza recipe. We used flour and natural yoghurt to make our base then added our other ingredients. We worked well in partners to make our pizzas. We really did enjoy eating them at the end! We then reflected on our learning, thinking about our guiding question, ’How does a healthy lifestyle impact your body and mind?’ We then thought about our previous learning, trying to link everything together. Some great discussions Crew MI 🙂 We are all looking forward to making our deserts tomorrow 🙂

What an extraordinary day we’ve had today in Crew! We were so lucky to have met James Dasaolu! James is a British sprint track and field athlete who specialises in the 100 metres, over which distance he is the 2014 European champion 🏃♂️🏃♂️
In July 2013, he became the second fastest Briton of all time after running a 100 m time of 9.91 seconds in the British Championships. In 2014 he won his first major title, claiming the gold medal in the 100 metres at the 2014 European Athletics Championships.
James put us through our paces and spotted some sporting heroes.
Well done done Keira-Leigh and Stevie for raising so much money through their sponsorship.
