Yesterday we took part in a STEM challenge to build a house that would survive a flash flood.
Well done to everyone, you all worked so hard!

Today we took part in a water safety live lesson hosted by Yorkshire Water.
We learnt about the dangers of open water and staying SAFE (stay away from the edge)!
Our classroom was full of focused mathematicians, as the children took on a fast-paced angle challenge. The children worked hard against a two-minute timer to correctly identify and label acute, obtuse and right angles. To prove and check their answers, they used a geometry tool; the corner-tester to check for a perfect right angle.

This week in P.E, our year 3 children practice their core athletics skills. They have been focusing on three fundamentals: running, jumping and throwing.

This week we have completed our case study reflections and moved onto our second case study all about forces and magnets.
Today, our year 3 classroom transformed into a bustling hub of human compasses as the children dived into the wonderful world of turns and angles. With their arrow lollipop stick they master the core movements: Clockwise and anti-clockwise.

Today we began our new writing unit and made predictions about what we thought might happen in the story. A few eagle eyed children even thought they recognised the story! I can’t wait to see what they all produce this time!

Today in maths we consolidated our learning of the digital clock which we found tricky before half term. Well done to everyone, you worked so hard!

We have been busy writing our own poems based on “The little boy who cannot see”. We used lots of similes to describe different colours and some amazing onomatopoeia too!
Some of these poems will be printed onto boards for our new eco-garden. Great work CrewRobson!
