Our Year 6 Outward Bound residential trip is a milestone experience designed to build independence, resilience, and self-belief as our oldest pupils prepare for their transition to secondary school.
Away from the familiar classroom environment, children step outside their comfort zones to conquer exciting outdoor challenges—such as climbing, raft building, and orienteering—that teach them the power of teamwork, perseverance, and practical problem-solving.
Staying away from home fosters personal responsibility and deepens friendships, creating cherished primary school memories with their classmates and teachers.
Ultimately, this immersive adventure equips our Year 6 children at Carcroft with the confidence and grit needed to tackle new challenges head-on, returning home more independent and ready for their next big educational chapter.
