‘Why Attendance Matters’ 

At Carcroft School, we know that every school day counts. Good attendance helps children achieve their best, make friends, and enjoy school life to the fullest.

Missing just 1 day every 2 weeks adds up to more than a month of learning lost in a year!

Attendance Guide

  • Blue (100%): Awesome attendance – keep it up!
  • Green (97% and above): Excellent attendance – keep it up!
  • Amber (95–96%): Slightly below average – aim for green. If attendance falls below 95%, you may receive an attendance letter.
  • Red (below 90%): Persistent absence – this means a significant amount of learning is being missed. Attendance letters will be sent, and you may be invited in for an Attendance Support Meeting.

Absence Reminders

  • Please call and leave a message on the school number (01302 722353) before 9.30am if your child is absent.
  • Try to book medical appointments outside of school hours where possible.
  • If your child feels a little under the weather, they’re often much better once they’re in school.
