Caterpillars
After half term, we had a very special delivery in the Hub – caterpillars came to stay with us! The children were excited to observe them and we spent time talking about how small they were when they first arrived. We discussed what might happen next and wondered how big they would grow.
To support our learning, we read The Very Hungry Caterpillar and explored the life cycle of a butterfly, learning about each stage from caterpillar to chrysalis and finally to butterfly.
It has now been two weeks since the caterpillars arrived, and we have been fascinated by the changes taking place. They have recently started to form their chrysalises, which has been very exciting to observe. Keep a look out for our butterfly blog! 🦋

Crew Farrow did a litter pick as part of a Crew activity linking to our expedition ‘blue planet’. Well done to everyone for clearing up the litter that was in our play ground. PLEASE PUT YOUR LITTER IN THE BIN! 🚮
Phonics
Shout out to everyone in my phonics group who are sat BBC, TNT ready to learn. Everyone is pointing sensibly to guide their partners reading. I am very proud of you all!

Crew Farrow have been creating their own self portraits today on the iPads. We used mirrors to ensure our self portraits were as accurate as possible.
Computing
Well done to everyone for creating their own picture using the iPads. We selected different sizes, shapes and colours to make our own house.
Expedition – Science
Crew Farrow have been grouping animals according to what they eat; carnivore, herbivore and omnivore. We have been looking at how different animals have different teeth, and how that gives us a clue as to what they eat.
Writing! ✍️✨
Crew Farrow have been working really hard in their writing. Remembering capital letters, full stops and finger spaces – as well as using the handwriting lines to ensure beautiful presentation!
Mathematicians
Crew Farrow have been using sticks and bricks to help us understand place value in maths. Well done for working hard! ✨
Work to be proud of ✨
Children on the challenge table have been showing off their independent skills, as they answer abstract maths questions. Well done to Kingsley and Dallas who have been independently using maths manipulative to answer questions. Crew Farrow are very proud of you! ✨
