Yesterday in Crew F2, we made oobleck! We mixed cornflower and water to explore the different textures we could feel when we put our hands into the tuff tray. We said that the mixture felt soft, gloopy and slimy. We had lots of fun exploring.

We have been really interested by the creative area when accessing provision. There have been lots of beautiful pieces of artwork created by our budding artists in Crew McGlone! We have looked at the equipment needed to create a painting and have practise putting it to good use to create our masterpieces.

This week in crew Tymon we have been exploring life skills within an indoor and outdoor environments.

This afternoon in nursery, some children decided to help Mrs Mason make our new batch of playdough! We looked at the ingredients and helped to tip the correct amounts into the bowl before taking it in turns to mix. We then waited patiently for Mrs Mason to take the mixture to the microwave which is when the magic happened! Whilst we waited, we decided to tidy away the mess and wipe the table so we left no trace (Dexter even got the hoover from the home corner out to hoover the table!). When Mrs Mason returned, as if by magic, the mixture was now playdough! We then spent the afternoon playing with it, using our hands and some tools to manipulate it into lots of different creations.

We have had so much fun during our first few weeks in nursery! We have spent time getting to know our classroom, identifying where our equipment belongs, and making new friends in our crew.
Thank you to the grown ups who joined us in school to take part in Crew McGlone’s first ever family learning afternoon! We had a great time working together to follow instructions to make sun-catchers. It was lovely to see so many people join us and the smiles on faces just made the whole afternoon worthwhile. We look forward to having our grown ups in school again soon!
Painting has been a firm favourite in Crew MW this week!

After all that painting we definitely deserved a treat… doughnuts! Thank you for bringing the doughnuts in Oliver, we hope you enjoyed your birthday!

On Friday, Crew MW went on a little walk around school distributing our final product bin stickers. The stickers will be stuck on the bins throughout school and as the children move through school they will always be able to see their work from this expedition. Whilst we walked round, we also spotted another final product displayed on the wall near the dinner hall – we loved the illustrations of the bees!

Lots of teamwork and problem solving in nursery this week. The children were working together to build a run for the balls to travel down to get into the bucket at the bottom.

Using water to create paintings around the outdoor area has also been rather popular this week and we can’t wait to do more of this next week!

A huge thank you to the grown ups who joined us for our EYFS Celebration of Learning. We loved creating collages of pirate hats and mermaid tails with you, and we were really proud to give out our final products – bin stickers to encourage recycling within our local community.
