Year 3 tested magnets on different materials to see whether they were magnetic or not. We then discussed why we thought the materials were magnetic and the forces at work, such as attracting which is a pull force.

Music Hook (23.2.22) 🎸
Year 3 enjoyed a guitar lesson in the hall with their guitar teacher Mr Smith. They played a range of songs and looked at the notes EGBDF and FACE on the guitar. It was great to hear all of the singing and how far the children had come in when playing a musical instrument.
Year 2 being geographical artists!
A fantastic first day back. The crews have settled back in really well and worked hard to produce beautiful work today.

Magnets (11.2.22)
Year 3 and 4 have been taking a look at how magnets work. We loved the active lesson where we spoke through the vocabulary of magnets, including push, pull, attract and repel. We then went on to draw our own magnet diagram and describe how the magnets work.

Improving pace and stamina in academic crew 📖
In crew this morning we were timed to answering 3 questions in 10 minutes and challenged to green by creating our own questions for peers within this time limit. We loved getting active and learning at the same time. Reading pace and stamina has been our focus this half term in academic crew and we can definitely see an improvement.
Crew MI 8.2.22
We really enjoyed dressing up on Friday as Rockstars to play Timestable Rockstars. We are definitely getting better at our timestables. We even did a kahoot quiz and played some maths board games. It was really fun!
Science in MI
Today we looked at how animals can be classified. We thought about the difference between vertebrates and invertebrates and used classification keys to identify each one. We then sketched and labelled our invertebrates and thought about their features. We used our knowledge gained to think about similarities and differences between two of them.

LKS2 Basketball Experience (7.2.22) 🏀
This morning we very fortunate to have a coach from Eagles come to our school and teach us how to play basketball. We noticed the children working hard in their teams and listening carefully to each other. It was lovely to see the children being kind to each other.
