World Book Day
Today on World Book day, creativity was on full display as Crew Wilkinson designed some amazing plates inspired by their favourite characters. Each design was a unique masterpiece!
What does seasonality mean?
In expedition, we started our new DT case study by looking at seasonal food and seasonality. We started off by discussing the four different seasons and then we sorted the items into each season. We then looked at which seasons food grew best in. We sorted the pictures based on the seasonality food chart. We found this really interesting and how some fruits and vegetables are in season all year round. We also found it interesting that in winter, less fruit and vegetables are in season.
World Book Day
We’ve had some AMAZING costumes for World Book Day today in Crew Hamill.
Crew Hamill have also brought in some BRILLIANT plates inspired by their favourite characters. Well done to Jake and Kira for their winning plates!
We’ve had SO much fun going in to read to the smaller children in EYFS today too. Thank you Crew Frost and Crew McGlone for letting us join your lovely crews!
Art Critique
Now that Crew Hamill have completed their final paintings of Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks, we have used a Padlet to share out paintings with the rest of the crew and add some critique. We have remembered to be kind, specific and helpful and to ensure we critique the piece and not the person.
Scotty’s Heroes
Crew Hamill loved their Scotty’s session today in which they were learning how to successfully use a flint and steel to create a fire. Did you know, if you use vaseline on your cotton pad, it will stay alight longer and your flame will be larger?
World book day!
Today was AMAZING because it was World Book Day! We got to dress up as our favourite book characters, and everyone looked so cool!
We really enjoyed our sensory story of the Jack and the beanstalk!
Fab writing in Y1!
I don’t know what Y1 children get fed for their breakfast on a Friday but we have a had an another super writing lesson to end the week. I am feel so proud again!

Pancake day
Tuesday was the best day ever! We made pancakes, and it was VERY messy (but that’s the fun part!).
First, we mixed all the ingredients in a big bowl. The flour went poof! everywhere, and our faces turned white like snow. We stirred and stirred with big wooden spoons—our arms got super tired, but we didn’t give up!
Then, we scooped the gooey pancake mix into little cups. It was sticky and squishy, and some of it even landed on the table (oops!). But that’s okay because we were having so much fun!
They were the BEST pancakes in the whole wide world!
