Expedition through provision 🚚🚤

We have taken our learning from expedition and continued it through into provision. We love playing with the trucks and diggers and noticed that when we play with them in the sand, their wheels make a pattern. We wondered what the patterns would look like if we used paint so we attached a roll of paper to our slide, added our paint and let them go! We loved the patterns the different colours made.

Max and Kingsley have been using their imagination by pretending that our pallet is a boat. They were both relaxing and apparently they were going to try and catch some fish! Max told me that they didn’t need to row and get tired because their boat has a motor – happy fishing! 🎣

Since we looked at different journeys, we have been thinking about the journeys our emergency vehicle toys might make. We’ve worked together to create a road map, adding other vehicles that might be on the road, as well as buildings that they might pass on their route. We used the blocks from our construction area to help us build the local area around our road. Hunter even made a police station where the policeman was having a nap before he started his next shift! 👮🏻‍♂️We worked so hard as a team and we showed great resilience when it came to building – great work!

Coronation Celebrations in LKS2!

Wow! What a FANTASTIC day we all had on Friday 5th May 2023 at Carcroft Primary School. Throughout the morning each Crew got to share their British Values Home Learning that they had done! In Crew FE we were blown away with David’s creation which was an AMAZING castle and in Crew Thompson Archie and Charlie took the limelight with their Coronation ceramic plates! Some fabulous work has taken place in lots of homes! Thank you to all of those adults at home who supported with this and to the children for bringing them in for us all to share! At lunchtime we enjoyed all sitting together and having an indoor picnic (thanks to the traditional British weather, what Bank Holiday ever passes without some rainfall!?!). In the afternoon, we then enjoyed creating crowns, flags and other Coronation memorabilia that we got to take home with us to help us to continue the celebrations over the weekend!

Coronation Celebrations in Crew Thompson!

We have really enjoyed learning all about King Charles III and what will happen during the coronation. First we completed our own flags to take to the street party picnic! We had lots of fun and even sang the national anthem. This afternoon, we made our own crowns and shared the home learning that the children had created – they did a fantastic job, we were all so proud! Have a great weekend celebrating!

Celebrating the Coronation in Crew Godley

We used so many skills to create memorabilia for the Kings Coronation 👑 including maths skills to create symmetrical patterns . A big praise to Charlie and Thomas for completing their British Values home learning, it was lovely to see them talk about their creations with Crew.

We have had a lovely week celebrating everything great about Britain 🥳 Finished off today with our Coronation Picnic 🧺

Celebrating the coronation in Y1!

We have loved celebrating the King’s coronation in school today. We started off the day by celebrating all of the home learning the children had completed at home – this was amazing to see and really put a smile on our faces.

We then all created our own crowns to wear for the “street party” picnic in the hall. This was so fab! We all enjoyed our picnic food and singing the national anthem.

Finally, we spent the afternoon making flags and pictures to put up in our houses to celebrate the King’s coronation.

Have a lovely long weekend celebrating!

A day to celebrate…

Crew Shields had a lovely picnic lunch today celebrating the King’s Coronation. Lots of happy faces we we had lunch together.

In class, we have learned more information about the traditions of coronations and what will happen tomorrow during the ceremony. We had to google how much the crown jewels were worth because we were very curious about this. We also listened to the National Anthem and Zadok the Priest which is the tradition music played at a coronation. We also created a collaborative piece as as a crew which turned out pretty well.

CORONATION OF CHARLES III

To celebrate the coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as King and Queen of the United Kingdom, some children from Crew Boswell have created these amazing art work for their home learning. We loved sharing these in Crew ❤️🤴

Homework in KS1

It is very important that children in KS1 are reading to a grown up at least 4 times a week an having this recorded in their reading record books.

Children in year one and those children in year two who still do RWI should also be practicing their sounds ready for the phonics screening in a few weeks.

Thanks

KS1 team.
