In our experience lesson we wrote a Christmas card for Baby Bear and posted it to him just like the Jolly Postman.

Crew White have recently been using Google Classroom to help them become more organised, responsible and digitally confident. It gives them a simple way to keep track of tasks, access resources and show their growing independence.
This week, they have been researching sustainable materials and presenting the advantages and disadvantages of different materials.

In Y1 we have started looking at numbers bigger than 10. Ready for our learning after Christmas. We have been looking at how numbers bigger than 10 are made up of 10 and a bit. 10 and 1 more, 10 and 9 more etc.

We enjoyed PE because we did disability sports/games. In one activity, we had to roll a ball with a bell inside to each other with a blind fold on. One of the things we most enjoyed where we was split into two teams; one team had a white ball / jack and rolled anywhere they wanted then they had a big orange or blue ball and had to roll it as close as they can to the jack. Who ever was the closest won!

Crew White are enjoying our new class library. There are lots of books thanks to our new ‘book swap’ scheme. We bring books in that we know will interest other classmates and share them on the book shelf. We have a mixture of non-fiction, fiction and First News. Football magazines are very popular right now!
This supports our target of reading more at home. If you want to find out more about the class library, come to Year 6.
The more you read, the more you know, the more you know, the more places you’ll go.

We have been using our 8 grids to make number bonds of 8! We love that we can see the two parts of 8 using double sided counters and we were all able to verbally chant the systematic number bonds independently. We love to use our fast maths eyes!

Today in Crew White, we loved our writing lesson. Firstly, we did some editing and improving with our new editing sheets. When we had finished improving our monologue about the Northern Tiger Cat, we typed up our work onto Google Docs. We have been working on the skills of figurative language, powerful adjectives, the power of three, repetition and rhetorical questions.
The HOWL that we needed to use for this was…Work Hard: I will have a positive attitude towards my learning.

Crew Ramsay and Crew Mcloughlin have been buddying up for weeks now to share stories and bond over books! We absolutely love our quality time with our reading buddies. Here we are sharing stories.

In Crew Gray, we have started learning how to play the guitar! We are excited to continue developing this new skill and are already making fantastic progress, watch this space…

Year 4 has continued their knowledge of variables today by starting to make a timetables quiz. Our session today was a guided session as it required lots of thinking power. We worked side by side to build the code, however, next week children will get an opportunity to work independently on building the code.
