Newspaper planning in MI

Today we started planning our newspaper reports. We thought about a catchy headline and tried to use alliteration. We thought about the 5 W’s creating our introduction. When then chotted down ideas for PP1 and PP2. Great work by all this morning 🙂

Science in MI

This week in our expedition lessons we took part in a science experiment that linked to the work we have done around the heart. We took part in some physical activity and recorded our heart rate after different amounts of exercise. We then analysed our results and discussed the effect of exercise on the heart and our daily lives.

Y5/6 Rounders tournament 🏏

Y5/6 did great today at the rounders tournament, we got lots of rounders and hit the ball far plenty of times! Well done Y5/6, you have done Carcroft School proud.

Active Break Times

Across school, crews are enjoying the new PE bags during break and lunchtime. This week Year 2 have been learning to play some traditional playtime such as skipping, tennis and rounders.

The children have absolutely loved playing with the equipment.

Sports for champions 🥇

I am excited to announce that we have an athlete visiting school Monday 4th July 2022.

Children should have come home with a sponsor form tonight, sponsor forms are due in Tuesday 28th June 2022.

Sponsor forms should be handed in to class teachers or the office once all sponsor money has been collected.

This is a great opportunity for the children to meet a GB athlete and raise money for school at the same time.

Working hard in P.E

Look at Crew Chapman working hard in their P.E session with Coach this morning!

We practised control on the balance bikes, carefully riding them around the cones. Then, we practised stopping and setting off safely when Coach showed a red (stop) or green (go) card. We had lots of fun!
Our star of the lesson today was Ralphie-Lee, Well Done!
