MI finish their newspaper reports

Some beaming faces today in MI 🙂 Children completed their final draft of their newspaper reports and felt such pride when this was finished. Such fantastic writing! Even though we found the piece extremely challenging, MI showed such determination and resilience throughout the piece.

Crew Challenge!

In Crew Pashley, this week for our Crew Challenge children were given different pictures that they then had to describe to their partner. All children enjoyed describing it to their partners and seeing what drawings they ended up creating.

AMAZING Mathematicians!

This week in our Achievers Assembly, we celebrated all of those Year 4s in school we have achieved 25/25 on the Multiplications Tables Check (MTC) that we complete weekly in school. These children have absolutely smashed it and have been able to correctly complete 25 questions in a record breaking 2 and a half minutes, some children even quicker! Massive congratulations to you all!

All Year 4 children will complete the National MTC test in June. For any children who have not yet passed they have the next 3 months to practise their timetables as much as they can! I know all staff in year 3/4 classes have planned lots of exciting activities to help children to learn these in the upcoming months! Hopefully as the weeks pass we will get to celebrate lots more of the children passing this test!

Reading Champions!

This week we had lots of children who were awarded for reading at home. It is great to see the increase in numbers and how much children are enjoying reading every night at home. BIG thank you to all of those grown ups at home who are spending the time listening to their child/ren read, the benefits are HUGE! After having a peek at some reading records this week it is also great to see the lovely comments from grown ups!

We also celebrated the Crews who have been collectively reading the most at home, Crew Godley won it for Week 2 and Week 3 in KS1 and Crew Boswell for Week 2 and Crew Shields for Week 3 in KS2.

Well done to all of our amazing readers and parents! I wonder if we might have even more Reading Champions later this week?!

Arithmetic progression in MI

Today children in MI completed an arithmetic paper. We have been working so hard on all areas of arithmetic ensuring we are thinking about the methods we need to use. I am blown away by the results today and scores are reflecting the hard work MI are putting in. It is so lovely to see children’s faces when they have shown improvements and it is also fantastic to see children applying all the skills that they have been taught. I am so proud of you all, keep up the hard work 🙂
