Home Learning in Crew McGlone

Pupils in Crew McGlone made my day on Friday last week. They not only came to visit me with some beautiful work, what is even better, is that they had created this beautiful work at home as part of their home learning. They have loved their learning in school so much that they wanted to do even more at home. Such beautiful creations! Thank you to their grown up’s too for supporting them to create their work, we appreciate your support and thank you for taking the time to do this.

Designing our own birthday invitations

This week we have been looking at the features of a birthday invitation. We talked about their purpose and how they communicate information to people. At the end of our expedition, we will need to send out information regarding our Celebration of Learning to our parents so we decided to create our own invitation designs that we will send out to our grown ups.

Painting our self-portraits

To continue our work for our final product, we have been looking at creating self-portraits with paint. We focused on how to make different shapes using a paintbrush, and we talked about how we can use different shades of paint to show skin colour. We also continued to use mirrors to recognise our features so that we could use the correct colours for our eyes and hair. We are really pleased with how they have turned out and cannot wait to see them feature in our final product!

Carcroft Crew Graffiti Project

Today we worked together as a whole school crew to design and create our very own graffiti wall! With the support of expert graffiti artists, we learned new skills and used our creativity to celebrate everything that makes Crew special. From sharing ideas and sketching designs, to choosing colours and spraying the final masterpiece, we collaborated as one team to bring our vision to life. Our graffiti wall now stands as a bold reminder that when we work together, we can achieve something amazing!
