We recapped apostrophes in our grammar session today, completing some activities on white boards and with our partner. We then applied our knowledge to a range of questions. We then explored a practise sats paper in our reading lesson. Children text marked confidently, unpicking vocabulary before answering questions. Our inference skills are really improving, our Wednesday inference sessions are really supporting us and helping us to become more confident when answering these type of questions.
Today MI completed their final arithmetic paper before the real one next week!! Such focus and resilience today! Everyone was so eager to get their best score! Children then worked through the questions they got wrong proving they were able to answer all questions correctly. We will work on some of the incorrect answers in our arithmetic sessions tomorrow, Thursday and Friday. Great work today MI 🙂
Today we unpicked line graphs in our magic maths lesson before consolidating our knowledge on rounding. We then worked in mini crews on a variety of maths questions, all preparing us for our sats next week.
Our Carcroft Change Makers have been hard at work working with their crews to develop our curriculum offer. We are excited to see what skills we are going to develop 👩🍳 🎦 🖼️
The children in Crew FE used modelling clay to create the composition of the Earth. As a crew we discussed the layers of the Earth and how they are different. Some children even asked questions to further their own knowledge which was wonderful, such as: Is the Earth’s core hotter than the sun?
The children in Crew FE thoroughly enjoyed their Crew challenge this week. It was lovely to see them communicating effectively to try and draw the same picture. The children were able to discuss which parts of the task were simple and which they found difficult. Well done everyone!
Crew Godley have been working hard in magic maths on one more and less, whilst also perfecting their number recognition and formation. We’ve worked so hard to ensure we are really listening to the quick fire questions. It was lovely to see the children collaborate and check each others understanding 🔢
PE this week has involved children continuing to practice their throwing skills for cricket. They had a new coach this week so it was lovely to see them full engaged in the activity.
