Cricket tournament!

Today, some of our Year 3 and Year 4 children have took part in a cricket tournament. The children showed how well Carcroft School work as a team, and were cheering others on throughout the day. Their crew building and communication skills really shone through today! They got better and better as the day went on and we are sure they will be experts when they have finished doing cricket in PE!

From cloud watchers to weather reporters

We have extended our knowledge from watching and identifying clouds, to making a weather report of our own. We did some research online, watched our local weather reports and then made a draft copy. We then critiqued our draft and made changes to create a final piece which some of us enjoyed filming. I think we may have some future weather reporters in Crew Robson ☀️❄️🌈☔️

King Charles has lost his crown 👑

We have been writing about the journey that King Charles took around London to find his missing crown. The children wrote sentences for each step of the journey and then we decided to put together a collection of videos to showcase our final piece! We’re so glad that the King found his crown and as you can see, he’s very happy too! 👑

Pledges – Summer term

In Crew Shields, we have been talking a lot about our academic progress and how to move learning forward. As part of this, we have discussed how it is impossible to cover everything in school time so it requires children to be accountable for their own learning and practising the things they know they need to develop.

We had an extended afternoon crew so Crew Shields could make a Howls pledge and 2 academic pledges. They have a copy for home so enquire with them about their pledges. They may need your support to accomplish this pledge. The other copy will be on their desk so they can remind themselves.

Mrs Rhodes and I are looking forward to seeing them be successful over the rest of the Summer term. 🙂

Crew Challenge

Can you create a raft from natural materials and make it float?

We collaborated beautifully to create rafts from twigs and string, we had to use our fine motor skills and clear speaking skills to ensure we achieved our final product.
