Chinese Whispers

During our crew building activity, the children had to use their listening, verbal and memory skills. Mrs Rhodes had a shopping list that one child had to remember. They then went to their group and had to pass it down the line. When it reached the back, that child had to tell Mrs Rhodes what the shopping list was. In some cases, they remembered some of the items but it took them a couple of times before they got the full list.

The children explained that they found it easy as there was only 4 items to remember but they found it difficult because they had to rely on others to give the information. Definitely one to try another time.

Easter Fun time

It was lovely for the children to take part in some Easter fun before we welcome the half term holiday. The crew have worked so hard this term so they deserved some down time as a treat. Mrs Rhodes and I even tried some face painting.

Wishing Crew Shields a very happy and safe Easter holiday.

Welcoming Spring

Yesterday, Crew Shields enjoyed a walk through our forest school where we could observe the beautiful items made by all the other Crews. It certainly put a smile on our faces as we think about the delights of Spring.

Crew Godley’s Egg-citing 🐣 week

We’ve ABSOLUTELY had an amazing couple of days celebrating Easter, starting with retelling the Easter story. Dominic had so much knowledge about Christianity!

We then took part in our Easter bonnet parade, we had some amazing creations which the children had worked so hard on. Such hard worked paid off because the Easter Bunny heard and paid us a visit today, we had to solve the clues to find our treats. Luckily, he didn’t out smart us!

Easter Egg Competition

Well done to everyone in our crew who took part in our Easter egg competition. Our crew thoroughly enjoyed voting for their winners, it certainly was a close call. Everyone had such wonderful and kind comments to share.

Well done to Billy and Lilia for their fantastic creations and our winners for today’s competition.

E-Safety Day 2023

On Tuesday 7th February we celebrated Safer Internet Day 2023, attached are the slides we created to showcase our thoughts and ideas.

Internet Safety or E-Safety is an integral part of children’s education in today’s digital world and is embedded in their learning at school. At Carcroft School we want to help our parents and children improve their own understanding of e-safety issues so they can learn to use the internet and all digital media in a safe and secure way.

As a parent/carer you’ll know how important the internet is to children – they use it to learn, play, socialise and express themselves. But the technology children use every day can seem a bit daunting and you might worry about the risks your child can face online – such as bullying, contact from strangers or the possibility of them seeing illegal or inappropriate content.

To try and help parents/carers with the fast moving and changing world of internet and social media we’ve suggested a few internet sites. You can also read/download the documents for further information and advice.
