The children spoke to their volunteers and even told some jokes!

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for our celebration of learning. What a fantastic performance it was 🙂 We are so proud of everyone and the journey all the children have been on.
We have enjoyed learning about the artist Picasso. We have recreated a snowman in the style of Picasso. We created multiple drafts before our final attempt which we we are all super proud of 🙂
We have studied the artist Claude Monet for our Christmas art. We have created drafts in our sketchbooks and applied the brush techniques on wood cookies. We are very happy with the final product!
Y6 got the opportunity to apply for a position that was advertised: Carcroft Tuck Shop Coordinator. The children were taught how to apply for a job, relating it to the real world, using the job description to help fill in individual application forms. The well deserved 3 children were successful and application forms have been saved for the next coordinators in March. Watch this space for the Carcroft Tuck Shop to have its grand opening next year!
In our latest Scotties session we got to toast marshmallows around the campfire and have a Nerf war! Lots of smiles all around!
Last week, we joined a hangout with schools around the world to create our own adventure short stories. The children throughly enjoyed using their imagination and having the freedom to write their own ideas down on paper.
For our Christmas art slice we have been looking again at Georges Seurat and pointillism.
We started by doing the background which we then left to dry.
We then used primary colours for the star, lights, tinsel and baubles.
