Good morning. We just wanted to share important information about our trip to Bridlington on Tuesday.
Please can children wear their school uniform, but with sensible shoes – this can be trainers. Under no circumstances should the children bring or wear sandals/flip flops.
Children are not to bring any spending money, either.
In case the weather changes (it’s looking warm so far) can they wear sun cream and bring a coat, should that change.
Remember to be at school at the normal time, so that we can leave at 9.
We will update via the blog for when we leave and arrival times, which are expected to be at 3.30.
Thanks and see you on Tuesday! 😆
Throughout case study 2 science we have been given time to reflect and answer our guiding question ’How can a healthy lifestyle impact your body and mind?’ Through answering this we used our writing skills and wrote a science report. Check out all of Crew Mc’s beautiful work below… we even gave critique focusing on our beautiful presentation and gave out prizes for the top 3 designs. We just need to respond to writing feedback and work with our peers to revise our writing to ensure Y6 quality.
Crew Longley and Crew Godley have been working hard to perfect their line drawings of our school for our final product. We have developed our sketching skills, including shadow, tone and texture.
As part of our DT case study, we have been discussing bacteria and how this can have a negative effect on our bodies. We have highlighted the need for washing our hands and why this is essential to keep those germs under control.
We have conducted an experiment which we will observe over the next few weeks. This is where we have rubbed bread over a range of services to see where the most germs are. To help us make a comparison, we have ensured one slice of bread was handled by someone who had washed their hands and used hand sanitiser. Watch this space…
Reminder – Crew Welburn won a non-uniform day on the HOWLOPOLY wheel this week which we are having tomorrow (Thursday)☺️
Today, some of our Year 1 and Year 2 children have took part in a rounders tournament at Campsmount School. The children showed how well Carcroft School work as a team, and were cheering each other on throughout the afternoon. Their crew building and communication skills really shone through today and made myself and Mrs Scott feel really proud of them! 😁 We can’t wait to try again next year after a little bit more practice as we think the team will be amazing! 🌟
This morning, we have had the opportunity to explore the school kitchen to help us understand the importance of storing and handling food correctly. This definitely answered the question of one student who has always wondered what happens in there. Massive thank you to Val for being an excellent tour guide.
As part of the Autumn Expedition, Key Stage 1 raised money to fund a community defibrillator. We are pleased to say this is now on-site and will be installed soon. Watch this space for our community launch event
Don’t forget your sponsorship money needs to be in by Tuesday 28th June!
