In expedition today, we set up our evaporation experiment! We can’t wait to check back in a few days to see what has happened and see if our predictions were correct! 👀

We like to keep our brains active by working out with Danny Go each day. Ates has been leading the way!

Last weekend, I went to a national football tournament in Coventry. I went with Doncaster Elite Academy and it was lots of fun even though I got injured. At the end, I couldn’t take a penalty but my friends did and they scored. Even though I got injured last minute, I still enjoyed watching the penalties but for some of it I did have to look away because I was nervous for my team. Luckily, we won 3-2 and when we scored the winning penalty I jumped up and tried to run to my team but the they ran over to me so we could celebrate together.

During Hook Week, as part of The Write Stuff, all of the pupils in LKS2 wrote an invite to invite all family members to our COL event. We then created a shared invite and sent this to our COMMS Team at XP alongside our ‘rasterbator’ creation. Last week, we received our final products to hand out to our grown ups! We were super impressed with them! Hopefully your child has given you one and we would love to see you all on Wednesday 12th July at 2pm.

Today we all enjoyed a bag of haribo to celebrate finishing our Y1 phonics screening, the children worked incredibly hard and we feel very proud of them all! 💕✅

Our Final Word preparation continues today with children now focusing on speaking in front of others. We built up from presenting to small groups before presenting to the whole class. Speaking in front of others is not an easy skill but we’re working hard to make sure we build our confidence!

they made their own nature tree using flowers and grass

Once we had finished assessments, it was time to get cracking with our writing in preparation for the final product.
Today, we critiqued a model text and gave praises, notices and wonders before starting to plan out what we’ll write about in each stanza.
We’re looking forward to writing the poems and then sharing them with the community.

Thank you to Ava and Georgie who shared their passion for skateboarding and rollerblading with the rest of the crew.
They often tell us about it and I know Georgie spends lots of time at the skate park.

On Friday, in Crew Pashley, we celebrated Pjarmarama Day by completing different reading activities in our comfy clothes. To kick start our day, we designed new front covers for our hook book ‘The Flood’. Here are just a few of our favourites!
We experienced our very own Carcroft Starbooks, even trying some tasty book themed treats!
To finish off our FUN day, we chose our favourite books to read outside in the sun with a cool ice lolly.
