Crew Thiede 16.4.21

What a busy week we have had! That didn’t stop us working hard today though!

After a busy week we enjoyed a day out in the fresh air! We especially enjoyed seeing the children playing so kindly with each other in the kitchen! They really used their social skills to share, listen and support each other.

Make sure to watch This Week in the Phase to see the highlights of our Wizard of Oz week!

Today’s HOWL hero is Presley! She has been a joy to have in Crew this week, showing all aspects of HOWLs. We are very proud 👏🏻

Also a special mention to Layla! When Layla joined our crew in March she found it a little bit scary but you would never know that now! The progress she has made is amazing and we can’t wait to see what she does next!

We hope you have a lovely weekend! Make sure to keep your eyes peeled as we have something very exciting happening on Monday! 👨🏻‍🌾

Fabulous FriYAY! 🙌

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today’s ‘star moment’ has to be our art lesson this morning! Some of the children really blew me away with their Dorothy designs. Children carefully chose appropriate colours and patterns to build up an image of the main character. We have some very talented and creative members of our crew! Well done! 👏

Todays HoWL average is: 2.8

A slight dip in the score to end the week but this is mainly down to some absences and some children not quite working as hard as they could of.

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this next week?

All crew members need to support each other in ensuring that everyone is working hard to allow all crew members to be the smartest that they can be!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Laila! Laila was praised by several crew members today for ‘being kind’ which I have to agree with! I also wanted to praise Laila for producing ‘beautiful work’ in art this morning. Her portrait of Dorothy was amazing! She had taken her time to ensure that her design was neat and she also thought about her colour and pattern choices. A piece of work that Laila should be very proud of! Well done! 🙌🤩👏👍🖍

Crew Wilson Weekly Review: 16.4.2021

We have had a brilliant first week back in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the Week:

It was hard to pick what just one favourite part of the week, but we spoke as a crew and decided that we have really enjoyed our expedition lessons where we have continued building our castle, and we also loved the Wizard of Oz day! We have worked so collaboratively this week, and have listened carefully to instructions to ensure we were completing tasks to the best of our ability, well done Crew Wilson, you definitely deserve a rest this weekend!

Be Kind: This goes to Stevie today for looking after her crew and being a good friend to children who may have been feeling sad, keep it up Stevie!

Howl Average:

3.4 – we have ended our week with a very respectable score of 3.4, hopefully we will be able to get it even higher next week – fab fours across the board is the target!

Friday✅

It’s Friday! What a busy first week back we have had in Crew Welburn! We’ve almost finished our castle now, all we need to do is print our stone pattern onto it and create our video. We can’t wait to share it with you.🌟

Highlight of the week:

The highlight of this week has been having everyone back together in our classroom. We have had so many smiling faces and everyone has been so kind to each other. They have really made us all smile this week. We also loved seeing everyone’s costumes on Wednesday. It was a crazy day, but the children had so much fun and can’t wait to write about what they saw.

It was a little bit sunny when we took our photo!🌞🌞

Our winning costume! 🦁🦁

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Evie👏

Get smart: Mariama 👏

Be kind: Darcie 👏

This week’s learning legend is Scarlett. Scarlett has worked hard on her listening in lessons to make sure she can get smart when she completes her work independently. She has even asked to stay in at break times to practice her word reading for her green and red words to make sure she can confidently read her stories in Read, Write, Inc. This is amazing work Scarlett and we are really proud of you!

HOWL Score: 3.2 Well done Crew Welburn!

This week’s HOWL average: 2.9 We’ve had a few children missing this week so this is a good score Crew Welburn 🙂

Crew Gerrard (16/4/21)

Friday complete! We have had another day of working hard and we were surprised at how fast today went. We had a busy reading lesson and missed our break as we were that engaged with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. After break, we then moved onto some grammar to practice direct and indirect speech for our Gravity writing. Our HoWL Heroes for today are:

Work Hard: Sophia for thinking carefully about some interesting vocabulary to help with her writing! 😁

Get Smart: Sapphire for producing some fantastic contributions to help her peers! 😃

Be Kind: Ruby for putting a smile on everyone’s faces and cheering everyone up! 😄

Our costume winner for The Wizard of Oz dress up day was: Lucas! 👏

Our HoWL average was 3.0! I wonder if we can keep working as hard as we have been this week? We really are striving to make use of every minute.

Have a great weekend, Crew Gerrard and see you all on Monday! 😆

Crew Marsh: 16/04/21

Star moment

Star moment today was the children feeling more confident with their fractions learning, today they have learnt to add two fractions together – this is something we have practiced since September so it was great to see it applied to reasoning and problem solving question.

Average is: 3.2!

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh’s target for next work again is to make sure that they are listening to every instruction and following it. We are really trying to make sure that everyone in Crew Marsh can follow an instruction to a T. This has got so much better as the week has gone on, next week we need to make sure this is perfect!

Howl Hero:

Our Work Hard Hero today is Preston!

Preston really impressed me with his attitude towards his math learning today, he came in from break and started his questions straight away, he made sure his work was neat and that he answered plenty of questions. Well done Preston! 😁😁

Crew Fox Blog: 16.04.21

Today, we really had that Friday feeling but managed to work hard to get smart whilst being kind! Crew Fox today have pledged to try and be more positive in every situation, turning negatives around quickly to ensure that we as a crew have an amazing time whilst learning.

Thrilling Thursday! 😁

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today’s ‘star moment’ has to be our maths lesson this morning. I was blown away with how quickly the children grasped proper and improper fractions as well as counting fractions on a number line. Children were able to orally say the next fraction, calculate the missing fractions and convert improper fractions to proper fractions; all in one lesson! BIG WOW today for maths!

Todays HoWL average is: 3.0

Yay! We got 3.0! 😁 Well done Crew Elmer! 👏

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

All crew members need to continue to follow their HoWLs to ensure that we get another HoWL average of 3.0 tomorrow!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Ray! Ray was praised by Lily-Beth and I for ‘getting smart’. Ray always ensures that he achieves the ‘expected standard’ if not more! During all lessons today, especially Maths and Art, Ray ensured that he was listening carefully and this enabled him to produce some beautiful pieces of work that he and his crew were very proud of! His art work particularly blew us all away! Well done Ray! 🙌🤩👏👍
