During our reading for pleasure time, we have started a new book ‘Jungle Book’ and we are loving it! Some of us even took it in turns to read the book, making sure we read confidently and with expression. We are excited to see what happens next!
Before half term, we had been learning about mass and capacity and what better way to apply what we had learnt than making pancakes! Carefully, we worked in groups to measure out the ingredients accurately. Finally, we added on our toppings of choice and then we got to eat them- delicious 😋
In today’s lesson we learnt about search engines: what they are and why we use them. It was great to explore and see who could find information the fastest. We then discussed how reliable to information was. It was great to see Crew MI helping each other too.
Last week, in Crew, we thought about what makes us unique and special. We acted out scenarios and thought about how the people felt in them and why. We offered advice but also reflected on what we would have done. It was a great session to celebrate everyone’s ‘uniqueness’ and how we are all special and contribute to this world in our own ways.
In Crew Haddock we have been writing about Ice Age – The Meltdown .Today we typed it up on the computer 🖥
This week in writing we have been writing a setting description linking to our stimulus The Jungle Book. We have done two grammar days to consolidate prepositional phrases and figurative language. We have completed our first draft and we’re eager to share to our audience – our Carcroft blog. So here is a sneak peak of some of our hard work so far. Watch this space as we will share again when we have critiqued and revised to up-level our writing.

This afternoon, we spent some time doing purple pen in our expedition books. Some of us used the sticky knowledge wall to help us make our corrections.
This week, in Art, we have practicing our art skills using cocktail sticks to create brightly coloured spike patterns for our hedgehogs.
