What another fantastic day in Crew Godley 😊 We have some very exciting news to share today! We have been out into our Forest School for the first time and Mrs Haddock could not believe how well behaved our Crew was 💕 The children worked hard – they were focused and paying attention. We ensured we listened very carefully to instructions – this is getting smart!

One of our main focuses this week has been, be kind – we ensured we did this by looking after the resources in Forest School and worked as a crew.

Our HOWL Heroes

Be Kind – Lydia

Lydia is such a great role model in Foundation Stage, she is always kind to her peers, she always uses impecable manners and whilst we were out at Forest today she ensured she kept herself and her crew safe. Well done Lydia.

Be Kind – Noah

Noah is such a great crew member, today he looked after one his friends when he had a little accident. He was so kind and caring and made all of his crew members so proud.

Get Smart – SJ

SJ has some very exciting news to share today, he learnt to ride a bike without any stabilisers!! SJ was so proud and rightly so! His crew members cheered him on and this boosted his confidence.

Watch SJ go!

Hi all,

We’ve had a very fun (but hot 🌞🌞) day in Crew Welburn! We have worked hard with our counting and spotting missing numbers, searching for map symbols with our magnifying glasses, and designing human features that we saw on our walk ready to build tomorrow!

We’ve all been very busy practicing our HOWLs (Habits of Work and Learning).

Today’s HOWL Heroes are:

Work hard: Harry

Get smart: Scarlett

Be kind: Kyden

Our average score for today was 3.2 – a little lower than yesterday but still a good score – well done Crew Welburn!

See you all in the morning 😊

What a lovely sunny day we have had! It was the perfect opportunity to spend the afternoon outside exploring the forest school for the first time! The children did fantastic listening, they focused on learning and kept themselves and their crew safe! They are all looking forward to next week’s forest school already! 🌳🌿

We also kept in the shade inside and practised our gross motor skills by dancing to some action songs. We had so much fun!

Our HOWL Hero

Be Kind – Well done to Charlotte who did excellent sharing today to cheer up one of her crew members! This is lovely to see!

Good afternoon ☀

What a very hot 😅 but lovely day it has been today in Crew Elmer!

Star moment of the day:

Today I have yet again been blown away by the writing that has been produced in Crew Elmer! The children have impressed me with their use of verbs, emotive sentences and even some onomatopoeia! I wonder who will be on our ‘sentence stacker’ wall tomorrow?

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.4

Today our Crew average is higher than yesterday so well done Crew Elmer on ‘working hard’, ‘getting smart’ and ‘being kind’!

How can we improve this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that everyone is being kind to each other.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Crew Elmer nominated Harry for HoWL Hero for ‘working hard’ all day. I agree! Harry your maths knowledge is amazing! Well done! 😁

Daily Blog – 15/9/20

Hi all,

Star moment of the day:

Today in writing, the children have been doing some drama and considering what characters would be feeling or saying at various points during a video clip. I was really impressed with the wide range of vocabulary that they felt would be relevant for this point in the story.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

How can we improve this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Shields need to continue working on their listening skills so they understand what they are required to do for their learning.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

This week we are concentrating on working hard because if you work hard, you get smart!

Our work hard hero today is: Brooke!!

Brooke has been working hard on improving her listening so she is able to complete her learning to the best of her ability.

Crew Longley 15.09.2020

Star moment of the day:

Today we have worked super hard becoming computer scientists. We have also started modelling how we can ‘Work Hard’ each day.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.8

Our weekly target HoWL is: 2.7

Children score themselves HoWL points on the end of every school day, they score against Work Hard, Get Smart and Be Kind. Crew Longley has become very honest with scoring themselves at the end of the day and can justify why they think this.

How can we improve this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Longley need to make sure that everyone is actively listening to instructions and each other.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero is Layton Emery. He has worked hard to show kindness across all the lessons and break time. I have really enjoyed seeing him smile and helping his friends. Well done Layton !

Crew Kent 15.9.20

Well done Crew Kent!! Another brilliant day. Special mention to our writing lesson today which was absolute superb. Children really working hard to use commas in lists as well as adding alliteration and similes to their writing. This afternoon was lovely as well with the children going outside to draw their field sketches. Taking their time to check all the details focusing on the human and physical geography of Carcroft.

Howl heroes for today – Hard Work = Sophia, Get Smart = Skyler and Being Kind = Grace
