Crew Elmer Daily Blog 01.10.20

Yay! 😃 It’s October! 🎃

What an interesting day it has been! 🎈

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today I praise how well Crew Elmer worked in ‘mini crews’ to complete the party scavenger hunt this morning! The children were great at taking it in turns to open and read the clues, find the clues hidden around the classroom and scramble the letters to reveal the different feelings words linked to the film, ‘Inside Out’. Well done Crew! 👏

Other exciting news 🤩 is that Lily-Beth won one of the ‘Golden Tickets’ ⭐ at lunch time! 🤩 She and the rest of our crew were super excited! 😁 It was absolutely lovely ❤ to see the rest of the crew cheering and clapping in celebration! 👏

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.0

Well done Crew Elmer! 👍 This is a great HoWL average score and means that we are on track to beating our HoWL weekly target last week, which means a possible spin on the wheel! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 2.9

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that we are continuing to ‘be kind’ at all times. This includes being kind with our shoulder partners, table buddies and mini crews.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Crew Elmer nominated Sienna for our ‘get smart’ HoWL Hero today! 👏 Sienna worked so hard in computing this afternoon. From knowing very little on coding and how to create and move sprites Sienna made excellent progress in today’s lesson and by the end of the session had a big beaming smile on her face showing how proud she was of her achievements. Excellent computing skills Sienna! Well done!

Hi everyone!

We have had a fantastic day in other Crew’s, as we have been taking part in the party celebrations. Anyone could have won the HoWL heroes today, with the lucky 3 being:

Being Kind: Jolie 🦸‍♂️

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.2! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Well done Crew Gerrard👍

Crew Godley Daily Post: 1.10.20

Good afternoon everyone,

We have had a brilliant party day today 🧁🎉🎁

We celebrated being back at school for a full 5 weeks with a party lunch which even had balloons! 🎈The children had a great time.

One of our children was even lucky enough to win a prize! Lily-Mae won a trip to Jaffa and Cakes for brownie and milkshake! Yummy 😁

Our HOWL hero today was Alfie for being kind. He has supported his crew and his teachers today throughout numerous activities and has been so polite all day, a true gentleman. Well done Alfie. X

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 1/10/2020

Today has marked the start of a new month, and what a fantastic day we have had!

Highlights of the Day:

We have had our Big Birthday Party to celebrate being back at school for a whole month and have taken part in some exciting activities – We’ve done an assault course, we’ve re-enacted some stories that we had written ourselves and even made some broccoli pizza! For dinner we got to choose from some favourite dinners – pizza, hot dogs and burgers with chocolate crunch and pink custard for dessert – they definitely went down better than the broccoli!

The Crew have had such a good day and have worked together brilliantly. Even though the day has been different to how it usually runs, they have still followed our classroom rules and have shown their teachers they are consistently working hard, getting smart and being kind to one another.

Well done Crew Wilson!

Howl Heroes

Work Hard: This Howl goes to April today, for her fabulous work in our storytelling session. April can be quite shy in front of the class but today she blew us all away (get it?!) with her scary Big Bad Wolf impression – Well done April!

Get Smart: This Howl goes to Luke today, for using his voice lots in all of our activities and sharing his feelings with his crew. Keep up the good work Luke!

Be Kind: This Howl goes to Jake today, as Jake has ‘shared the air’ with his crew, has had his hand up for every question and has shown green standard sitting throughout the day which is very kind to his teacher. Well done Jake!

Our Howl Average for the day is 3.7 – some very honest reflections about behaviour and some good targets set for tomorrow so we get those fabulous fours across the board!

Well done Crew Wilson, lets round of the week with another great day tomorrow!

Crew Shields – 1/10/20

As it is National Poetry Day, the children have been learning how to recite a poem. We choose The Crayon Box That Talked as we felt this was a good starting point and would interest the children. We will continue to develop this over the next week or 2. Hopefully, we will be able to share a video/audio clip when we have learned it all.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.1

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow, Crew Shields need to ensure they are listening to instructions and following them the first time.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Work Hard hero today is Alicia!

Alicia is an absolute delight to teach and is always polite and respectful to the adults and peers. She tries her best and follows all instruction the first time. I can see a huge improvement in her confidence and I hope this continues to grow as we move through Year 3! Well done!

Crew Thiede 30.9.20

Hello everyone!

Another busy day done in Crew Thiede 👍🏻

Highlight of the day

We started our day off with a cojo challenge where we worked on our speaking and listening skills.

In maths we continued on our work with comparing numbers using ten and one frames and our mathematical symbols.

During the Write Stuff we explored the stars and imagined what our dream playground would look like.

In the afternoon we worked on our computing skills.

HOWLs

Today’s HOWL score was 3. This means that our score has dropped again. Although this isn’t the way that we want to go, the children were very honest about their personal scores which is a real positive.

Tomorrow our crew average score goal is 3.2.

Our HOWL heroes today were…

Work hard

🌟 Harry for his hard work throughout the day and trying his very best in all his learning

Get smart

🌟 Jake for using his equipment to help with his maths learning

Be kind

🌟 Talia for supporting her friends and encouraging them to be their best

What a Wonderful Wednesday it has been up in Crew Elmer today! 🌟

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today I praise how well Crew Elmer worked as mini crews in our PE lesson today. The children demonstrated just how kind they can be through sharing the ball, including everyone in the game, ensuring that everyone gets a go, passing the ball and moving around safely, using their manners and ultimately making sure that everyone is happy! 😃 It was a great session and afterwards both Miss Hart and I shared how successful we thought the lesson has been! Excellent work Crew Elmer! 👏

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

This is a little dip from yesterday’s HoWL score but as a group we discussed this and felt that it was due to two crew members being absent and a few children being unkind when it came to holding doors open for each other. We have addressed this issue and hope that tomorrow our score improves. 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 2.9

How can we improve this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that we are continuing to ‘be kind’ at all times especially when moving around school. We need to be in our line order at all times and ensure that we pass the door along or hold it open for the next person. Sounds obvious but some of us have been forgetting to do this! 🤦‍♀️

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Crew Elmer nominated Ryleigh for her exceptional hard work in PE today! Her attacking and defending skills were out of this world! 🌎 We know that Ryleigh enjoys football out of school but it was great to see her working hard to apply these skills to a new challenge in PE today. Lots of children praised this and it was also recognised by myself and Miss Hart. Amazing stuff Ryleigh! Well done! I wonder if next time you could teach some of your ‘mini crew’ in using some of these skills to make your whole crew as successfully as you had been in today’s lesson? 🧐
