CREW FOX BLOG 16.10.20

It’s Friday again and it’s been a long week.

Crew Fox have worked incredibly hard to get smart. Today we practised our I.C.T skills and took part in some P.E team games. We also looked back at our English to see where we could improve. This afternoon we learnt ‘Three Little Birds’ by Bob Marley in our music lesson.

Alissa for Work Hard

Our Learning Legend we Shay

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.0We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means. However we really need to improve attendance in order to increase our HOWL average!!

Crew Longley – 15.10.2020

Crew Longley have been looking at historical photographs of Carcroft today. We have had very interesting discussions around the age of houses and if they are actually older in the photographs because the photgraphs are old. A tricky concept at first.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.7

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 2.9

How can we develop this tomorrow7

Tomorrow, Crew Longley really need to work hard to improve their handwriting tomorrow.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Howl hero today is Lacey P

Lacey has been amazing in Maths today. The learning has just clicked and she has really blown our socks off!

RWI Reading

Yesterday, 9 of our crew have read their books. We have 6 crew mates on track to earn their reading treat.

Crew Elmer Daily Post 15.10.20

Yay! It’s Thursday! One step closer to the weekend! 😁

Star moment of the day: ⭐

This morning I was really blown away with how much previous maths knowledge the children had around ‘Roman Numerals’. The children could talk about them, recognise them, draw them and even solve calculations using them. I was astonished! 🤩 Especially at those children who could order, read and write Roman Numerals to 100! There sure are some excellent mathematicians in Crew Elmer! 👍

I think the ‘star moment of the day’ for the children was learning about the history of Carcroft in our Expedition lesson, even if their learning was interrupted by the fire drill! Look below at some of the amazing primary and secondary sources that we looked at in our lesson…

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.1

Another great score today Crew Elmer! Well done! 👏

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that they move through school quietly at all times. This lunch time there was a lot of noise that distracted the office staff so I am hoping that we can improve this and it won’t happen again.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today Crew Elmer had some lovely praises for each other 💕😊 However, the HoWL hero went to Jazmin for ‘working extra hard’ in all of her lessons today and seeking helping from her crew members when she needed it. Keep this up Jazmin! 🙌

Daily Blog Crew Godley 15.10.20

We’ve had a great day today in Crew Godley 🌟 We have worked hard to ensure we are demonstrating more green standard learning behaviours. These children who demonstrated it today consistently were our HoWL heroes, for working hard, getting smart and being kind 🥰 Lets see if we can get more children up on there tomorrow!

Today we have explored what ‘crew’ and ‘community’ mean, in and around Carcroft. We have been developing out vocabulary to reflect the discussions we had. One of our favourite words we explored today was ‘resilient’. We had some fantastic discussions around being resilient when things becoming tricky and how we can ‘be kind’ to support everyone.

We also perfected our Crew song which we are so proud of 🎶 🎼

Crew Song

See you all tomorrow 😊

Crew Thiede 15.10.20

What a thrilling Thursday!

Highlight of the day

We started our day at a virtual crew hangout with children at Green Top Primary School! We met Crew Miller and Crew Good who gave us some wonderful feedback on our Be Kind project! They loved how many ways year 2 showed kindness! 😀

Then we had a big surprise when the fire alarm went off! 🔊 All the children were sensible and not as worried as last time, we were very impressed 👏🏻

HOWLs

Today our HOWL score was 3.4 ⬆️

Today our HOWL heroes were

🌟 Work hard – Charleigh G

🌟 Get smart – Harry

🌟 Be kind – Rome and Sasha

Crew Boswell – 15.10.20

Our highlight was having the chance to speak with a crew from another school and learning a little more about how to improve our HoWLs as well as receiving feedback for our recent video showing what kindness means to us.  We were all a little nervous at first but then really pleased with what was said about our work!

Don’t forget non-uniform tomorrow!

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.0

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 2.8

I wonder if…

I wonder if we can ensure our non-uniform day tomorrow by all scoring 3 or 4 for our Work Hard HoWL.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Kind hero today is Tyler!

A great day, Tyler.  Hard to pick just the one HoWL that Tyler has excelled in today so we’ve chosen Be Kind as we’ve been working on this one over the last few weeks.  He continues to be a thoughtful member of our crew and is constantly (and quietly) looking out for others and ensuring that he is there to support if they need.
