We had lots of fun trying out the new skipping rope Miss Marsh ordered for us. Lots of children queued up to have a go and show off their skipping skills. We can’t wait to get it back out tomorrow! Thank you Miss Marsh!😃💕
This morning, we had lots of fun whilst working on our communication and listening skills. We were able to play lots of different games where we worked as a team to achieve a common goal. We can’t wait for next weeks session ☺️
Today, in Magic Maths, we made some 3D shapes using marshmallows and cocktail sticks. We talked about what 2D shapes we could see that the 3D shape is made from.
Well done to Henry, Presley, George and Alissa on 100% attendance for Autumn 2. I wonder if we ca. have more children for spring 1?
We began our lesson today by recapping habitats and then played a silent matching game to match the animals to their natural habitats. We then used our silent signals for agree and disagree to show our answers. This generated some fantastic discussions about how some animals had more than one habitat which we used later in the lesson.
We then used a Venn diagram to compare the different animals who lived in an urban habitat and a woodland habitat and discussed those such as foxes and hedgehogs which could live in both.
To finish our lesson and really challenge ourselves we tried to answer the question “Why wouldn’t you find a polar bear in the forest?”. Again this generated some good discussions and we used our previous knowledge of the basic needs to animals to help come up with a collaborative answer.
Great work everyone!
Today we explored pronouns…
Today we worked as a crew to edit and improve our peers first chunk of writing then we started on our own. We tried really hard to use our target grids to improve our work.
Over the last two days we have been looking at habitats – the 4 different habitats we have looked at are coastal, woodlands, urban, pond. We got given an animal and we had to stick them to the correct habitat.
We showcased our beautiful work and everything that we had achieved to our family and friends in a presentation of learning. On display were our repurposed frames, which had our art work and monologues alongside. We read our emotive monologues out loud and protested to save our planet. Hopefully, we made the audience reflect on how they could help our planet survive.
