Sharing our favourite songs

As part of our music case study, the children have been given the opportunity to write their favourite song on a piece of paper and place it in a cup.

During our end of dy crew, we choose a song, listen and then decide whose favourite song it might be. We definitely know some of our crew well as we’ve managed to guess who it belongs to.

We’re looking forward to hearing all the rest of the songs over the next few weeks.

Reading in the library!

Crew Thompson love visiting the library every Friday afternoon! We love changing our old book and having a browse for a new book to read at home! When we have chosen our new book (or carrying on with the book we currently have) we love to find a comfy spot to read before heading back to our crew. We love Library Fridays!!📚💕

Adapting song/music

Yesterday, we continued with unpicking poetry (a song) and worked as mini crews to rewrite it and adapt the verses. We want to be able to generate as many ideas as possible so that when we write our own poetry for the final product, we have lots of background knowledge to pull from. Some great collaboration and communication demonstrated within mini crews.

MTC Testing! 🥇🏆

This week, lots of our Year 4 pupils have been working really hard on recalling the answers to a variety of multiplication calculations as part of the National Multiplication Timestable Check. The children have worked incredibly hard and have made all of the staff in LKS2 super proud this week! Any children who have not yet completed the test will do so with Mrs Elmer next week on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Any children who are absent will complete theirs the week after. Results will be released to school and shared with pupils, carers and parents on Monday 26th June.

If your child has not completed the test yet then they may want to use some of the links below over the weekend to fully prepare them for next week!
