Simple, compound and complex sentences

This afternoon, we have been consolidating our knowledge on simple, compound and complex sentences.

Simple – contains one clause

Compound – joins 2 simple sentences together using coordinating conjunctions.

Complex – joins clauses together using subordinating conjunctions.

We are doing our best to fill any gaps on learning before we complete assessments next week.

Poetry – The Miner

During our expedition lesson, we have been annotating a poem about mining and unpicking vocabulary.

We had a book talk session so that we could discuss the poem and help with our understanding. In addition, we have generated phrases and words that we could use when it comes to writing their own poetry in preparation for our Summer final product.

Magic maths

In maths we consolidated our knowledge of FDP equivalents and algebra. We really showed collaboration and that we have still got our knowledge from being taught this months ago! 🤩

Reading outside crew MI

Crew MI took their reading outside today in the lovely sun , they had to workout and draw a 5 foot hole on the floor using chalk as this was the size of the hole that was dug. Then before we finished reading chapter 7 we did a few freeze frames.
