What a fantastic day we had yesterday celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee. The children enjoyed learning all about the Queen, making decorations and showing off their outfits of red, white and blue. They have been so excited today to tell us all about their afternoon with their families – especially the ice creams!
Thank you to our parents and families for joining us, we hope you had a wonderful time! Thank you also to the amazing staff who helped put together such a fun event.
Please find below the competition that is going out in Crew Welburn today.
Please note the timings for our morning club will change week commencing Monday 6th June 2022.
The new timings will be 7:50am until 8:40am.
Today we celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee at Carcroft School. For the first time in two years, we came together as a community, on our school field in order to enjoy a big royal picnic.
The children were provided with a royal lunch from the kitchen, including burgers, hot dogs and chips in their special Union Jack boxes. The grown ups brought along their own picnics and everyone ate lots of ice-cream for dessert.
The children enjoyed spending time with both their family and friends. There was lots of bouncing on the bouncy castles, dancing in the disco zone, face painting galore, tattoos and so much more.
It’s been an absolute pleasure seeing our school community come together today!
Thank you to all of our parents and carers and other family members for coming along today, we really appreciate your support in creating memorable moments for the pupils of Carcroft School.
We’ve had lots of fun celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee today in Crew Welburn! 💂🏽♀️👑 We’ve decorated biscuits in our Union Jack flag colours, bounced on the bouncy castles and had a delicious picnic. Even the rain couldn’t spoil our fun ☔️ We hope you enjoyed the celebrations as much as we did!
We had an amazing day playing 9 other school teams at our football tournament. It was a steady start then we put all our effort in and won out of league 2!!!! We had a few injuries along the way but they were absolute trooper’s! The girls did Carcroft proud and represented their hoWLS throughout! 🤩
On Monday this week, I spent some time in classrooms focussing on our HoWLS. I wanted to see if pupils were working hard to get smart. In particular, I was focussing on whether pupils had a positive attitude towards their learning and whether they were contributing when their Teachers were checking for understanding.
Pupils were focussed and engaged in every classroom. School was extremely calm and allowed for high quality Maths and English teaching to take place. Every pupil demonstrated at least ‘secure’ HoWLs with many demonstrating ‘Great’ HoWLs.
Foundation stage had circled up to reflect upon their HoWLs for the day before heading out into their beautiful new playground to burn off some of that Monday energy.
I spotted Y1 pupils getting smart in Maths by working together to understand how they can use their Maths knowledge to solve problems and our Y2’s were learning how to tell the time, in order to get smart.
In Crew Boswell, there was a fabulous buzz for learning when estimating angles. Children were showing such amazing attitudes towards learning.
Crew MI were working hard on their writing when I dropped in. The pupils were extremely focussed on getting smart using their writing plans during the time I was in.
Whilst in Crew Fox the pupils were drafting a stunning piece of writing using the Y6 framework to ensure it was of a high quality.
Both Crew Marsh and Crew Shields were checking out for the day. I loved listening in to the children’s reasoning behind their HoWLs, they articulated this so well referring back to their school day. Simply beautiful everyone!
What a lovely afternoon Mr Sharp and I had visiting our classrooms.
GATES WILL OPEN AT 12.30PM TO ENSURE THERE ISN’T A SURGE OF PEOPLE QUEUING AT 1PM. CLASSROOM DOORS WILL SHUT AND GATES WILL BE LOCKED AT 1.10PM TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN. CHILDREN WILL BE SIGNED OUT OF CLASS OVER TO THEIR RESPONSIBLE ADULT BEFORE THEY ATTEND THE PICNIC.
Colin’s Ice’s will be attending, therefore if you are unable to attend you are welcome to send your child/ren with some money to purchase an ice-cream. Your child will be responsible for looking after this so it would be useful if you sent it in a named envelope.
Carcroft School would like to invite our pupils’ parents/carers to the Big Royal Picnic to celebrate, Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
It will take place on Thursday 26th May 2022 from 1.00pm until 2.45pm on the school field.
Please bring a picnic and a blanket (no alcohol, vapes, smoking or dogs permitted on site). All children who usually have a dinner including the children who normally have packed lunches and have paid for a dinner will be provided with the thematic lunch that they have ordered to bring out to the picnic. All other children should bring their packed lunch as usual.
The children will be given a ticket to enable them to collect their picnic food outside from our wonderful cooks.
The dress code is red, white and blue (children can attend in these colours during the day). There will be a Royal Parade for our children if they would like to dress as a King or Queen for the day. Who will be chosen as the Jubilee Carnival King and Queen?
Activities will be taking place during the picnic, including;
-Design a crown
-Bouncy castle
-Face painting
-Music and games
-Ice cream van (please bring money to purchase this)
