This morning the children took part in some drama and dance during their PE lesson. They had to act out particular words but put some dance moves with them. A great job done by all.
Eggcellent Competition
It was lovely to see so many children take part in the egg competition. You could see they’d really put some though into their design. I especially loved the Black lives matters theme which linked to our current expedition.
A huge well done to everyone that took part.

A even bigger well done to the winners… Chase and Izzy- voted for by their peers.

Chotting for our character description
We have started to gather y6 quality vocabulary, phrases and figurative language to help us with our writing. We focussed on the appearance of the character from our newspaper article and then applied some of the chotting we did to our own sentences.

Angles continue in MI
Some fantastic collaborative working today as we explored angles at a point.

Character descriptions in MI
Today we used our chotting ideas from yesterday to start writing our plot point on our characters appearance. There was some great language being used along with figurative language 🙂

Learning to ride in Y1 🚲
We have loved learning to ride our bike without stabilisers!

Crew Challenge
This morning in crew, the children worked in small groups to first of all decide on a set of instructions and then show these to another member in their crew However, the challenge was to verbalise the set of instructions rather than repeat them which is an activity they do in PE.
Afterwards, we debrief the skills that they were learning such as listening, communication and retaining information. Children shared they found this more complicated as we increased the amount of instructions they had to do.

XP Outdoors
We’ve had a lovely afternoon completing a new XP outdoors project. Children had to make mini hedgehogs from salt dough that will go into our outside area.
They had to work in mini crews to make the salt dough and then shape like a hedgehog.
These will be a lovely addition to the outside area.

Final Art Pieces
Well all I can say is WOW!
Not only have the children blown me away with their sketching but they have impressed me with their perseverance. Even though, sketching isn’t their favourite subject they haven’t let it defeat them and give it 100%. I am beyond proud of them and it’s lovely they’ve shared how they are proud of themselves.

Carcroft Cafe! 🍕🍽
What a lovely afternoon KS1 have had, we have enjoyed a lovely afternoon with our families at the carcroft cafe showing off all of our cutting skills and sharing food.
We ended our lunch with decorating some easter biscuits.🐰
