Y6 home learning

Over the long weekend, we are asking children to read chapter 3 and 4 of our class reading book ‘Clean Getaway’. We know they’ve been really enjoying reading this in class and would like to give them the opportunity to read for pleasure at home. Happy reading! 📖

Year 6 guitars

Crew MI and Crew Boswell have loved playing the guitars today with Mr Smith. This is something that they have really enjoyed since November.

Missing football nets!🥅

I am very disappointed to find out that schools football nets have been stolen recently from the school grounds. Children at Carcroft School have been asking for football nets at break time for many years. Luckily, Active Fusion donated us 2 football nets for the children to use in their break times, therefore I am very sad to hear that our children have been unable to use them.
It is all of our responsibility to make sure our school is looked after.

Engaging in Expedition

Crew Welburn have started Case Study 1 in expedition this week – How can I help my body to grow? We begun by looking at the skills that we need to work on in our crews to look after our bodies, and to develop our independence. We began by talking about how we brush our teeth and why we need to look after our teeth, and then we moved on to how we can be more independent when getting dressed – especially when we are putting on our gloves! We all showed the grown ups that we can turn our jumpers the right way around and put them on with no help, zip up our coats with no help, and every single one of us had a go at putting on our gloves without needing the grown ups to do it for us! 🧤

Popular Play-dough!

We had an exciting delivery today in Crew Welburn…Some new play-dough resources had been delivered to help us with our fine motor skills so that we can make our fingers nice and strong! It was a very popular area of provision all day, and the grown ups were all really impressed with how well the children were challenging themselves to use the new tools and to use their fine motor skills, and focussing on what they were doing

February half term camp!

We have exciting news again, Active Fusion are hosting camps at out school in February half term (Monday 13th – Friday 17th February). Camps will cost £6 per day and children we need to bring their own pack lunch. The reason camps are charged this time is because Active Fusion are not receiving any funding from the government.
