With the lovely sunshine we’ve been having, it was an ideal time to explore shadows and how they are formed. In Crew we had a challenge – to form ‘friendly shadows’ 👥👥 It was great fun to debrief watching the clouds move quickly by 🌤️

In running club we decided to measure our progress by completing a good old fashioned bleep test, something we found difficult in the beginning! However, with determination and some good breathing techniques the children reached level 9 🏃♂️🏃♂️ an amazing achievement 🥳
Here in EYFS we all absolutely LOVE playing with water, whatever the weather!
This week we have been playing with the water tray outside, as well as collecting water in buckets and using paintbrushes to paint different surfaces. We have even tried finding new ways to transport water from one end of the playground to another! We also realised that when we painted things with the water it made them look really shiny! Making sure we are safe is important to us, so when we wanted to paint the taller parts of the shutters, we made a sturdy base and climbed up carefully so that we could reach. Miss McGlone was really impressed with how well we kept each other safe and how we used teamwork to collect and stack items to make our base!
Today, we invited the wonderful ladies in our lives to join us for a Mother’s Day brunch. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces and it was a really enjoyable morning!
Our beautiful butterfly Mother’s Day cards and bunches of daffodils ready for our special ladies 🦋💖
With all the wet weather we have been experiencing, we have had lots of bugs crawling around our outdoor area. We have REALLY enjoyed digging for worms, rescuing them from puddles and seeing how many worms we can find!
Another week where we have been able to celebrate lots more Reading Champions in school! It was great to see so many children stood up in Achievers Assembly this week being celebrated for their awesome reading at home. It was lovely to see the beaming smiles on children’s faces and to listen to them talk about how proud they felt. Thank you again to those adults at home who are taking the time to listen to their child/ren read very night.
This week we also celebrated the Crews who collectively read the most at home last week. Crew Marsh won it for KS1 and Crew MI for KS2.
Well done to all of our Reading Champions and their amazing adults at home!
Here’s a selection of beautiful work from across our Trust this week!

During our expedition lessons this week, we have completed our first draft of Martin Luther King. When we finished we hd a gallery walk to allow us to appreciate the hard work everyone had put in to their art work. We then discussed critique and how we could make them even better next time. Although they were a first draft, I’m extremely proud of what they have produced and it was lovely hearing them express how they were proud of themselves during check out. Keep an eye out for the next draft…
Wow! What a wonderful day we’ve had at Magna. The children had an amazing time exploring the different areas including fire, earth, air and water. The children participated in 2 workshops linked to Big Circuits and Fuel to help us consolidating our learning throughout the Spring term.
