Doncaster past or present?

In expedition this afternoon, children explored different places and things in Doncaster and discussed whether this was in the past or the present. We discussed whether these features were human or physical features. We also discussed the population of Doncaster and what impact this has.

Building Bridges!

Today in expedition, we built bridges for our billy goats to cross the river. We started by looking at some bridges that other children had made and looking at the equipment that they had used to create them. Then we worked with a partner to decide what equipment we would use to create our own bridges. We looked at which resources would make strong bridges and why they would be strong, before getting to work and building with our partners! Have a look at our creations…

Meeting Carla.. 🐧🧺

After all the conkers fell on our head yesterday, today we opened our eyes to see that it was Carla (a bird) wrapped up in a washing line!! Carla was hungry, so we had to help her. We had a challenged to try and pinch a sandwich using cocktail sticks from Percy the Park Keeper. We used cocktail sticks to represent our hedgehog spikes. We also practised our rolling skills to see if we could stick the sandwich to our back.

Comparing in geography 🌍

Today we built on yesterdays learning in our geography lesson, we compared three places in the UK – we looked at Beeley (village), Skegness (town) and London (city). We compared the different human and physical features of each.

We found out that if you live in a city or town you have more human features.
