Work hard Wednesday ✅

Today has been so productive, our little minds have been so busy.

Highlight of the day: The highlight of my day was watching the children grow in confidence with their reading. It was so lovely to see so many children reading words they were confident with and supporting each other when it got a little tricky. The children enjoyed Fred talk games today whilst playing ‘Simon says’ outside. The link below is to ‘Fred’s Fridge’ which I’m sure the children would love to play at home too.

Todays HoWL hero’s 🦸‍♀️
Get Smart: Skyla for excellent speeding reading of her green words

Work Hard: Lily-Mae for fantastic work in phonics.

Today’s HoWL score was another fantastic 3 🙌🏼 Let’s see if we can build on this tomorrow. The children were so mature today when thinking about their praises, wonders and apologies. I can really tell we are working hard to be Year 1 ready 🙂

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 21.4.2021

Highlight of the day:

Today we worked very hard in our maths lesson, using number lines to help us answer subtraction questions. It was very tricky to subtract teen numbers but we were resilient and reached our desired standard by the end of the lesson, well done Crew!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This goes to Toby for independently correcting his writing in Write Stuff, ensuring he had capital letters and full stops in his sentences, well done!

Get Smart: This goes to Stevie for going above and beyond with her adjectives in her writing about the Lion from the Wizard of Oz, great work Stevie!

Be Kind: This goes to Eva for keeping the classroom organised and keeping her group on track in maths, well done!

Howl Average: 2.3

Unfortunately we have had quite a fall from grace for our Howls today, as lots of reminders had to be given to the whole crew throughout the day and we have not seen the positive learning behaviours that we have been practicing since September. We spent some time this afternoon reflecting on our attitude towards learning and will hopefully see an improvement for tomorrow.

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 21.04.21

Wonderful Wednesday! 🌟

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today’s ‘star moment’ has to be our Expedition lesson. The children really enjoyed exploring the digestive system in a practical way and certainly learnt lots! Watch this week’s TWIT to see some snap shots! 📸👍🥪🥛🍴

Todays HoWL average is: 2.7

A slight dip in our HoWLs today but again we have had a few absences and I also feel that we have been very honest with our HoWLs today and justifying our scores. Well done for your honesty crew Elmer!

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

All crew members need to work together to ensure that all crew members are working hard, getting smart and being kind ALL day.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Harley! Harley was praised by Miss Hart and I for ‘working hard’ all day and maintaining a positive attitude towards his learning. This isn’t always easy for Harley but today he absolutely smashed it and as a result produced some great pieces of work and achieved his Gold Targets in EVERY lesson! Well done Harley! An amazing day! Keep it up! 🙌🤩👏👍🖍

Crew Thiede 20.4.21 and 21.4.21

We have had a lovely few days in Crew!

We have been spending lots of time outside and working on our maths! We used the building blocks and our imagination to create castles and houses. Then we counted to see how tall they are!

Today we were working on our Fred talk! The children worked so hard to recognise the names of animals on Old MacDonald’s. We had p-i-g, c-o-w and sh-ee-p!

Our HOWL heroes are…

Messiah for working hard and impressing all the adults with his positive attitude.

Rose for being kind and comforting a new friend when they were upset.

Crew Marsh: 21/04/21

Star moment

Star moment today was seeing the children in our science experiment this afternoon, in smaller crews the children acted out the digestive system – it was messy and a lot of fun! I think everyone’s favourite part was when our digestive system was ready for pooing. 💩💩

Average is: 2.9!

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh’s target for tomorrow is making sure that we have a positive attitude towards our learning, some children in Crew Marsh can be negative to some of the lessons we have through out the day “I hate reading” “Why have we got to do handwriting”. This is something as a crew that we really want to get right.

Howl Hero:

Our Work Hard Hero today is Harlie!

Harlie was chosen by the crew today for working hard, Harlie has completed all of her learning today, making sure she is concentrated in every subject and being a great role model in Crew Marsh. Well done Harlie the crew and I are so proud of you! 😊😊

Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog 21.4.2021

Wednesday ✅

We have been mathematicians today in Crew Welburn. We have been working hard to use our number lines for subtraction within 20. We had to make sure we counted our jumps carefully to get the correct answer. ➕➖

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Darcie 👏

HOWL Score: 2.1 We are going to work on our HOWLs tomorrow after reflecting this afternoon.

Crew Gerrard (21/4/21)

Wednesday is fast becoming Crew Gerrard’s favourite day! We started off with a fun swimming lesson, then when we arrived back at school, we worked hard on finishing our first paragraph. During maths, we were re-capping knowledge on decimals and are becoming much more confident with our knowledge and terminology. Our HoWL heroes today are 3 fantastic role models for Crew Gerrard:

Work Hard: Emily for being really focused on her decimal learning! 😁

Get Smart: Amelia for always making sure her work is beautiful and something to be proud of! 😃

Be Kind: Jolie for being someone who is always kind and considerate to others.

Our HoWL average dropped to 2.9! We have come up with ideas to be able to make sure our day is better tomorrow! 😆

Crew Shields – 21/4/21

Wonderful Wednesday! The children have really enjoyed PE this afternoon as they had an opportunity to develop their jumping skills and to demonstrate Sportsmanship. The children tried to be positive, encouraging and respect their Crew while completing their challenges. Working with a range of other peer members has allowed them to develop their crew skills and working together.

Crew Shields Average : 3.3

Targets for this week : 3.4

How can we improve?

To further improve, Crew Shields need to ensure they are responding to feedback without being prompted to do so.

Crew Shields Work Hard Howl Hero – Ava

Ava has had an extremely positive attitude to learning today and has worked hard in all areas of her listening. She has tried to increase her pace and has worked on her listening skills.

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 20.4.2021

Another fantastic day in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the day:

We have had a very busy day today and have squeezed lots of learning in. Our Crew highlight of the day was making it to the end of our Write Stuff lesson after writing six chunks! Our brains were exhausted by the end of the lesson but we were so proud of how much we achieved. Tomorrow we will work on completing our writing even faster than today, watch this space!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This goes to Stevie today for getting cracked on with her learning and exceeding her own expectations! Stevie missed our first Wizard of Oz writing lesson yesterday but didn’t let that stop her from completing her sentences today, keep it up Stevie!

Get Smart: This goes to Brandon for independently sounding out adjectives for his writing about the Tin Man today. Brandon is still relatively new to our crew but is proving how big his brain is getting by showing off his newly acquired phonics skills, well done Brandon!

Be Kind: This goes to April. April never needs reminders for being kind to both her teachers and her crew, and will always go out of her way to help others and find jobs to do, great stuff April.

Howl Average: 3.1 – a decent score – we still require some improvement from the Crew for listening skills but a better day in terms of attitude to learning, lets keep it up!
