Crew Marsh: 20/4/21

Star moment

Star moment today was productivity in our math lesson, I was so impressed with how hard the whole crew worked in math today. Well done Crew Marsh, this was impressive!

Average is: 2.6!😢

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh’s target for tomorrow is making sure that we have a positive attitude towards our learning, some children in Crew Marsh can be negative to some of the lessons we have through out the day “I hate reading” “Why have we got to do handwriting”. This is something as a crew that we really want to get right.

Howl Hero:

Our Work Hard Hero today is Millie!

Millie has worked so hard today, she has made sure that all of her work looks beautiful and completed all of her learning. 😊😊

Tuesday✅

We had lots of favourite parts of the day in Crew Welburn today. We loved our writing and we worked really hard to write our sentences about the tin man from the Wizard of Oz. We also really enjoyed printing our stone pattern in expedition this afternoon, although it was a little messy! 🎨🖌

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Darcie 👏

Get smart: Heartley 👏

Be kind: Darcie 👏

HOWL Score: 2.8 We will work on our score tomorrow Crew Welburn.

Memorable Monday! 🐶

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today’s ‘star moment’ has got to be our visit to the farm on our school field today! It was lovely to see the children’s faces light up as they got to see, touch and hear about a range of different farm animals. The children learnt lots of interesting facts such as that Alpacas have to have their teeth trimmed, they also got to experience what it was like to brush a donkey’s mane, as well as throw toys for a sheepdog! The children had a really fun morning in the sunshine and I am sure that it will be one to remember! 🐶🐰🐔🐾🦌🐏🐑🐐🐇🦆🐓😁

Todays HoWL average is: 2.8

Slightly lower than the expected 3.0 but we did have two crew members absent today and also some children unfortunately let themselves down when it came to the ‘work hard’ and ‘be kind’ HoWLs. We are all hoping that tomorrow will be a better day! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

All crew members need to support each other in ensuring that everyone is trying their best to get at least a 3.0 for their HoWLs.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Frankie! Frankie was praised by several of her crew members for ‘working hard’ and being kind’ inside and outside of the classroom. I also noticed Frankie today for similar reasons. In Maths she was incredibly patient in trying to work out a complex problem, she never gave up and was a great role model for her peers. I was also impressed with her behaviour during our farm visit, as well as how supportive she was to her crew members during our Expedition lesson. A fab day Frankie! Well done! 🙌🤩👏👍🖍

Magnificent Monday!

Today we launched our new expedition; who lives on Old McDonald’s farm? This meant we had some very exciting visitors in school!

Farmer Ian very kindly brought us lots of animals for to see! We met Fred the tortoise 🐢, Jessica the goat 🐐, Quack and Quackers the ducks 🦆, Meg the dog 🐕 and even Marshmallow who is an alpaca 🦙 as well as sheep, rabbits and guineapigs!

Farmer Ian taught us all about where the animals live and what they like to eat! We then got to brush the donkey and pony as well as play with Meg! She was very clever and knew lots of tricks!

Fred the tortoise was a big hit with the children. Farmer Ian let him have a walk on our field and we had to keep finding him in the long grass, can you spot him?

Make sure you keep your eyes 👀 peeled at the end of the week for This Week in the Phase to see even more of our very exciting day!

Today’s HOWL hero is Riley! Riley’s little sister joined our crew today and was a bit nervous but luckily she had an amazing big brother by her side! Riley has been so kind and taught his sister lots! Well done ❤

Crew Nicholson 19.4.21

Fun on the farm… Today we enjoyed our special visit to launch our next topic where we will be exploring ‘Who lives on Old MacDonalds Farm?’ 🐑🐓🐰🦆🦙 We got to pet small animals such as a rabbit, a guinea pig, a duck and a chicken. We were even lucky to see one of the ducks lay an egg and the children got to have a feel as it was still warm. We met Fred the tortoise who is 50 years old!! We then got to see Harry the donkey, Monty the pony and some of us brushed their fur! We also loved the alpacas, goats and the sheep. I think one of the favourites though was the beautiful sheep dog Meg. We loved throwing her hoop for her to catch and bring back! She was a little bit cheeky though and ran onto the muga and pinched the football the boys were playing with 🤣 We had a fantastic time and the children were so lovely and careful with the animals. We can’t wait to get started on our topic! 👨🏻‍🌾

Star moment

Star moment today was seeing the children interact at the farm, which visited school. It was great to see the children with the animals and to have a lovely visitor in school… a bit normality. We all had a lovely time meeting all of the different animals. Thank you so much Crew early years for letting us come and see also. 🐄🐐🦆🐆

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 19.4.2021

We’ve had an amazing first day back in Crew Wilson, what a great start to the week!

Highlight of the Day:

This afternoon we had a very special visitor in school – a farmer called Ian brought some exciting animals onto the school field and we got to see them! We saw a tortoise, a rabbit, guinea pig, baby goats, a duck, a donkey, a horse and two alpaca’s! We also got to play with Ian’s sheepdog Meg, and tired ourselves out running around the field after her! What a great end to our first day back 🙂

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This goes to Daisy for her superb sentences in our Write Stuff lesson. Daisy thought really hard about what her sentence would be, took her time to ensure her words were all spelled correctly and made sure that her writing was beautiful, well done Daisy!

Get Smart: This goes to Bobby-J for persevering with his writing today and trying very hard to ensure his letters sat on the line. Writing isn’t Bobby-J’s favourite thing to do but he listened carefully to make sure he knew what to do, great stuff Bobby!

Be Kind: This goes to Tommy T today for being kind to his teachers and following instructions carefully in our Kixx session, keep it up Tommy!

Howl Average:

3.0 – a good start to the week, although lots of reminders have been given today. The Crew are aware of their personal targets for the rest of the week, and we will hopefully see an improvement in our Crew score!

Crew Gerrard Blog (19/4/21)

Today has been a busy start to the week for Crew Gerrard! We have been thinking about how we can improve our art work for expedition, during Crew. We then worked on converting mixed number fractions ready for our fraction lesson, which we are becoming more confident with. After that, we started our new reading and finished our final preparations for our Gravity writing. We then finished off our letters, ready for purple pen improvements tomorrow. Our HoWL Heroes today are:

Work Hard: Emily for showing such superb knowledge with converting improper fractions to mixed number fractions! 😁

Get Smart: Chloe for helping and supporting others with fantastic ideas in writing! 😃

Be Kind: Alicia for having such a positive attitude for everyone all day! 😄

Our HoWL average was 2.9! I wonder if we can all work hard to achieve our best tomorrow? 😆
