Crew Gerrard (02/11/2020)

Hi everyone,

We have had a really interesting and enjoyable first day back. We had quite the surprise. I was really impressed with how well Crew Gerrard coped with this. It was difficult to choose the HoWL heroes for today and they are:

Working hard: Emily 🦸‍♂️

Get smart: Sapphire 🦸‍♂️

Being kind: Alicia 🦸‍♂️

Our HoWL average was 3.0!

Well done and let’s make tomorrow even better!

Crew Kent Blog 2.11.20

Work hard: Olivia 👩

Get smart: Sophia 👩

Be kind: McKenzie 🧑

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 2.8We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Well done Crew Kent 👍

Crew Elmer Daily Post 23.10.20

Happy Halloween! 🎃

It has been a very spooky day in Crew Elmer today! 🧛‍♂️

Yay! We have finally made it to half term! 🙌 It has been a very busy last week in Crew Elmer and we are most certainly ready for a week off to relax 💤 , refresh 🤗 and recharge 🔋!

Star moment of the day: ⭐

This has got to be when I opened the door this morning and I had Chucky, a devil, several cats, dead brides and scary creatures in front of me! 😂 The effort that both children and parents have gone to was superb! So BIG THANK YOU to you all! 👏

The other ‘Star moment of the day’ for me was arriving at school and seeing this on my desk…

A BIG THANK YOU to Miss Hart for this lovely act of kindness, it really made me smile and although she believes that I deserve it for getting through my first half term at Carcroft and for working so hard I equally believe that Miss Hart should be awarded for helping me to get through my first half term and also for working so incredibly hard! 👍👏💕 #crew #crewelmer

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.5

WOW! 🤩 This is the highest score that we have ever got! MASSIVE well done Crew Elmer! 👏 What a way to end the half term! 🙌

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we improve this?

After half term Crew Elmer need to come back ready to ‘work hard’, ‘get smart’ quickly and ‘be kind’ to each and every member of Crew Elmer! I know we can do this Crew Elmer! 🙌

Today’s HoWL Hero: 🙌

Today Crew Elmer praised lots of children and adults for achieving the different HoWLs. However, we all agreed that Jazmin deserved to get HoWL Hero for ‘getting smart’. She produced the most beautiful Halloween reef this morning and it is definitely something that she should be proud of! 👏👍

Golden Ticket Winner for Handwriting: 📝

Another week… another chance 🤞 to get some cake … 🍰 but oh no! Our winner this week ate the whole chocolate cookie  🍪 without me even getting a look! 😂 However, I don’t blame her! They looked yummy and she well and truly deserved it! 🤩 This girls handwriting is beautiful and she has really been working on her ascenders and descenders this half term and you can really tell. Her letter formation is on point and her writing is of a very high standard! Well done Frankie! 🙌👏👍✏📝

Learning legend: 🤩

You wouldn’t believe it but Frankie was also our ‘Learning Legend’ for last week! Frankie always works hard and always comes to school with a positive attitude and is ready to learn regardless of the lesson being taught. She participates well in class and is also incredibly supportive of her crew members. Frankie has also been trying incredibly hard with the presentation of her work and it is always produced to a high standard. This week Frankie has also achieved ‘Green Standard’ in almost all of our lessons! I absolutely cannot fault this girl and I am sure that Miss Hart and the rest of her crew will totally agree. You really are a super star Frankie and we are all very proud of you! Enjoy a well deserved rest over half term! You truly deserve it! Well done Frankie!

Weekly overview:

See below our exciting phase video to sum this week up! 👇

Crew Attendance:

Our latest attendance was …% This means that we are working towards the minimum expected standard (97%) this week! I wonder if we can improve this next half term?

Homework:

All children should’ve received homework today to complete over half term, this included spellings as well as reading. I have also set the children up with their own accounts on https://www.timestables.co.uk it would be great if over half term children could continue to practice their timetables and complete some of the speed tests! 👍 If children have forgotten their logins then please send me a Dojo message and I will get back to you as soon as I can!

Crew Longley – 23.10.2020

Wow! What a half term. I am absolutely blown away by the children this half term. We have come a long way and really are becoming a wonderful crew. We have researched carcroft, worked hard, got smart and been kind, we have litter picked, collected food for the community, made pledges to be the best version of ourselves, become authors (watch this space for our first book!), become mathematicians, scientists, computer geeks and we have even done our crew check ins in Spanish! 🤩

We all certainly deserve a break to recharge and go again!

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.2✅

Our Weekly HoWL average is: 2.6

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1✅

How can we develop this next week?

Next week, Crew Longley need to relax, play, have fun and read!

Learning Legend:

Our Learning Legend is Alkim.

Alkim has had a brilliant couple of weeks. He has shown a new determination towards his learning and is really wanting to show that he has worked hard and is getting smarter. Alkim is certainly concentrating more and is determined to set the tone!
My favourite memory was reading his simile in The Write Stuff chunk. Miss Laing heard his initial suggestion and it certainly made her smile, but Alkim listened and improved his final one to make it even better!
Well done Alkim.

Crew Boswell – 23.10.20

What a week it has been.  We’ve made the most of every minute that we’ve had and continue to support each other throughout all the daily challenges that we face.  You should all be proud!

Have a great half term everyone!

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.0

Our Weekly HoWL average is: 3.0

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 2.9

I wonder if…

I wonder if everyone remembers to practise their reading and times tables over the half term.  I wonder if each of our crew has shared with you all that they have achieved in this first half term; they have so much to be proud of.  Mostly though, I wonder if you will enjoy your week off and share with us all some of the things that you’ve been up to when we return.  I hope so!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

It has been hard picking the HoWL hero each day with the effort everyone puts in and today has been no different.  I think, given the half term that we have had and all the things we have to be proud about, it’s time I let you all in on a little secret (though I imagine it’s one that you all really know anyway):  Crew Boswell is made up of HoWL Heroes!  Bobby-Joe, Ellie, Ethan, Freya, Harvey, Heidi, Joseph, Lexi, Lucas, Madison, Max, Melisa, Nate, Ryan, Tia, Troy, Tyler!

Learning Legend:

Tyler!

Tyler has simply blown us all away in Crew Boswell this week.  Whether it is through his kindness and support for others or how he has continued to push himself and strive for green standard in everything that he does, we couldn’t ask for a better role model. Keep it going, you know you can do it now!

Why Should we be Proud of the Carcroft Community?

Crew Wilson Weekly Review: 23/10/2020

We did it! We survived the first half term back in the middle of a global pandemic and my first half term of being an official teacher! 🙌

Crew Wilson have made me so proud throughout the last 8 weeks and what a fantastic Friday we have to round off a wonderful half term!

We were certainly in the Halloween spirit and have been so excited to come to school in our spooky costumes, we haven’t stopped talking about it all week!

Highlights of the week:

Theme: Our box model village is finally complete! I am working on the expedition video right now so watch this space to see it all come together, we are very proud of our hard work, and the positive feedback we have received from our School Leaders has been great!

Maths: We have switched up our maths lessons and now complete a daily knowledge checker in our maths books which we have flown through! The children have smashed their maths learning this week, test their knowledge on greater and smaller numbers and see what they have remembered (ask them what Alan the Alligator likes to eat!)

Writing: We have finished our recount of the Three Little Pigs story, and were blown away by how much we had actually written! Our writing is coming along beautifully, and now we are practicing at home it will come on even faster, keep it up Crew!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This Howl goes to Finlay today, as he has consistently shown his teachers what green standard looks like. Finn always listens to instructions and tries his best even when it’s tricky, keep it up!

Get Smart: This Howl goes to Bobby-J today, as he is also a great listener and perseveres with his learning even when it is tough, well done Bobby-J!

Be Kind: This Howl goes to Eva today, our very own Kim Woodburn, as she has kept the Crew in check and made sure the classroom was sparkling after our messy pumpkin crafts today, great work Eva!

Howl Average:

We have ended half term on a high, with a 3.5 average score.

All of the Crew’s hard work is paying off as we are getting smarter every single day!

They have blown me away this half term at how resilient, collaborative and kind they have been, they have definitely earned a rest, have a lovely half term everyone!

See you all in a week 🤓
