Work hard: Roxanne👩

Get smart: Kelby 👩

Be kind: Kai 🧑

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.2! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 03.11.20

Terrific Tuesday! 🤩 We have had another really successful day in Crew Elmer today! 👍

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today I have been impressed with a couple of things… one being not only the quality but this time the quantity that the children have written in The Write Stuff session this morning! I will try and take some photos tomorrow of our sentence stackers to show you all some of the fabulous work that is going on in Crew Elmer this week!

The other element of the day that amazed me was the children’s dance skills during our first dance session with the KIXX coach today. The ‘free styling’ and moves that the children were creating were great and I was impressed with just how creative and flexible some of the children in our crew are! 🤩

Todays HoWL average is: 3.4

Another great HoWL average today Crew Elmer! This is most certainly a great start to the half term! 👍

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.3

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that they are as fab tomorrow as they were today and on Monday! 🙌

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today there were many members of Crew Elmer we could of been selected for HoWL hero but after lots of praises for this young lady we went for Lily-Beth for being super smart! I was really impressed with how smart this girl is! She took her homework home last night after pestering me all day for it 😂 as she wasn’t in on the last day of term and then bought it back today alongside some extra work for The Write Stuff! 🤩 I also had the privilege to listen to Lily-Beth read this afternoon and I was blown away with her speed, fluency, accuracy and expression! She really is a smart member of our crew! The children also wanted to praise Lily-Beth for her kindness today both inside and outside of the classroom. Well done Lily-Beth! 👏 An all round HoWL Hero! 🤩

Crew Longley – 03.11.2020

Today, we have been exploring the film The Present. This beautiful short film will be the basis of our new writing unit. The story will also link nicely to our new expedition based around the question of ‘What is the most valuable gift we can give?’

Today’s HoWL average 2.7

Our HoWL target is: 3.2

How can we develop  As a crew, we need to ensure that we are working hard all day to really achieve the minimum expectations in each lesson.

Howl Hero

Keaton. He has been amazing today when working with the column method for subtraction

RWI Reading

Yesterday we had most children read. We have read with the remaining few. This is great progress, but please could I ask everyone to continue encouraging their children to read.

Thank you!

Another great day!

Highlight of the day

Today we started a street dance unit in PE! We showed Coach Cara our best street poses and practiced our super street walks! I think we’re going to have a lot of fun in PE and be super cool dances by the end 🕺🏻

Crew Nicholson Daily Blog 3.11.20

What a fabulous start back to school we have had! I’ve been really impressed how the children have progressed with recognising their own name and they have been really keen to begin to write it too, practising their pencil grip and working really hard! If you can keep practising with your child at home to recognise their name this will really support them with their progress in school!

This week, we are doing some work around bonfire night, which the children have been really enthusiastic about! We have began to make our rockets with Mrs Mason, where we have discussed shapes and colours too! We had lots of fun mark making some fireworks today with chalk. The children experimented with different colours, drawing different lines and shapes.

At story time we listened to the story ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’. We then talked about what the Gruffalo looked like and what shapes we could see he is made up of, then had a go at drawing him. I was absolutely blown away with the work the children produced, they worked incredibly hard to form circles and lines. I can’t wait to see how well they progress with this 🌟
