Crew Marsh:4/11/20

My star moment today was hearing the children this afternoon discuss our new topic question, the children came up with some lovely ideas and it was nice to hear their opinion.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.5! AGAIN 😁👍 (We are having a very consistent week this week)

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 2.7

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow, Crew Marsh need to make sure the classroom is looking tidy at all times! Miss Smith and I still had to tidy the classroom after school and throughout the day… lets get this right tomorrow!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Kind hero today is Aaliyah!

Aaliyah worked really hard in her math lesson today, she really knuckled down and by the end of the lesson she could add numbers where she has to exchange in one of the columns. Well done Aaliyah! You have made Miss Smith and I feel really proud! 👌💕

Highlight of the day

Today we learnt about Hinduism in our first case study. The children discovered different important parts of Hinduism and thought about how this is similar to religions that we already know about.

We also had a lovely discussion in Crew time about how it is important to make our own choices. We linked this to our RE case study and events that are happening in the world right now. I can’t wait to carry this on and hear more of the children’s ideas and opinions.

HOWLs

Today our HOWL score was 3

Wednesday ✅ Another day where the children have made me beam with pride with their attitude to their work 🌟🌟 We have continued with our mark making, practising drawing different shapes and lines and today we were drawing a cat after reading Winnie the Witch. I was AMAZED with the work the children produced, they worked so hard and each and every single child were beaming with pride with their work and rightly so! This is a fantastic attitude to have to our work 🌟

You might notice that your child might come home looking a little different to how they came to school that morning 🙊 This is purely because they are having fun and experimenting! They lay down on the floor to chalk if they find it comfy, they play with water, sand, paint, play dough, glitter, you name it, we do it! Of course we do our best to protect their clothing but it is difficult to keep a child immaculate at nursery! The more messier, the more fun they have had learning!

HOWL Hero

Working Hard – Addison-Jean

Addison-Jean worked so hard today in her mark making and really paid attention to the detail in her work. She took pride and care in her work, well done! 🌟🌟

Crew Boswell – 04.11.20

The star moment today was the discussion we had at the end of the day surrounding what it means to give and the sort of things we could give and would like to receive.  There were some particularly good ideas when we talked about ‘what else it could be’ with certain items.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.1

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

I wonder if…

I wonder if we can focus on our handwriting and presentation to ensure that we produce beautiful work that we’re proud of.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Work Hard hero today is Madison!

What a great day for Madison today!  We have all been impressed with how Maddie has made sure that she has had a better day than yesterday and this has certainly been, in part, down to some mature and considered contributions to the discussions that we have had throughout the day.

Crew Longley – 04.11.2020

WOW! What a great day we have had today! I have been amazed in every lesson, but especially so in our first philosophy lesson. We had some very grown up discussions based around our expedition question ‘What is the most valuable gift we can give?’

Today’s HoWL average 3.1

Our HoWL target is: 3.2

How can we develop  Continue being as fantastic as today!

Howl Hero

We have not managed to pick just one HoWL hero today, as everybody has been so amazing, working hard and getting smart!

RWI Reading

Yesterday we had 12 out of 17 children read. Please could I ask everyone to continue encouraging their children to read.

Thank you!

Wednesday ✅

I am so proud of the children today! The progress they have made with their learning this week has been fantastic. It has been lovely to observe how mature and able the children really are, I sometimes forget they are only 4 and 5 years old 😊

The children now come into class in a morning straight to their morning task, this week we’re focusing on name writing and number formation. As you can see the children worked so hard and certainly ‘got smart’.

  1. Today was the fay we celebrated our final expedition piece of work – our wonderful banner created by the children. They have worked so hard developing ‘Crew’ this term and demonstrated through the banner what makes Carcroft School the best to place to be ❤️ this isn’t our final version of the banner, we will have a very special unveiling to share with you this term ☺️ the children worked tirelessly on this, we had beautiful handwriting and lots of beautiful work to showcase. The children even did their own mounting! We have developed so many skills ☺️

Crew Shields – 4/11/20

The children have really enjoyed our experience day in preparation for our next expedition. They were starting to think about and discuss the most valuable gift we can give to others. This prompted some great discussions around what Christmas is all about and it was lovely to see them prioritise spending time with family over presents.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.0

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields need to ensure that they are listening to instructions so they are clear on what they need to do.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart hero today is RiRi!

RiRi provided some thought provoking opinions to our class discussion for our expedition experience. She really took on board what we discussed and was able to say that for her the most important gift she can give other is her!
