Crew Nicholson Daily Blog 3.11.20

What a fabulous start back to school we have had! I’ve been really impressed how the children have progressed with recognising their own name and they have been really keen to begin to write it too, practising their pencil grip and working really hard! If you can keep practising with your child at home to recognise their name this will really support them with their progress in school!

This week, we are doing some work around bonfire night, which the children have been really enthusiastic about! We have began to make our rockets with Mrs Mason, where we have discussed shapes and colours too! We had lots of fun mark making some fireworks today with chalk. The children experimented with different colours, drawing different lines and shapes.

At story time we listened to the story ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’. We then talked about what the Gruffalo looked like and what shapes we could see he is made up of, then had a go at drawing him. I was absolutely blown away with the work the children produced, they worked incredibly hard to form circles and lines. I can’t wait to see how well they progress with this 🌟

Work Hard: Perrie for her brilliant adjective filled sentence in book talk, well done!

Get Smart: Luke for his resilience and perseverance in our handwriting lesson today, he tried so hard with his letter formation, keep it up Luke!

Crew Kent Blog 3.11.20

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Maxi 🧑

Get smart: Crystal 👩

Be kind: Grace 👩

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.4! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Well done Crew Kent 👍

Crew Shields – 3/11/20

Today in Maths, the children have really had to make their brains work by starting to exchange hundreds for tens. This has been quite tricky at times but they have preserved over the last few weeks and it is starting to click into place. I know with more practice we will be experts at exchanging when subtracting.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields need to be more resilient when they are faced with a challenge. E.g. computing.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Kind hero today is Georgie!

Georgie is one of the most helpful children in Crew Shields. She is constantly supporting her peers and nothing is ever too much trouble. This afternoon she has supported every child in computing by being an expert in using Scratch.
