Kicking off sports week in an extraordinary way! Sporting Champions in Year 2 🏃‍♂️

What an extraordinary day we’ve had today in Crew! We were so lucky to have met James Dasaolu! James is a British sprint track and field athlete who specialises in the 100 metres, over which distance he is the 2014 European champion 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

In July 2013, he became the second fastest Briton of all time after running a 100 m time of 9.91 seconds in the British Championships. In 2014 he won his first major title, claiming the gold medal in the 100 metres at the 2014 European Athletics Championships.

James put us through our paces and spotted some sporting heroes.

Well done done Keira-Leigh and Stevie for raising so much money through their sponsorship.

Sponsor form update 🏃🏼💰

I have just finished counting sponsorship form money, thank you to the 13 sponsor forms we have had handed in. We are very close to our target, however we now need the last push to reach it! Any amount you can sponsor would be greatly appreciated and please drop off in the office.

Last sponsorship forms will be accepted on Friday morning, ready for the event on Monday afternoon next week.

Thank you!

Sponsor form money

Just a reminder that sponsor form money is due in tomorrow (Tuesday 27th June), however if forgotten we can collect it up until Thursday 29th June, so it gives enough time to be counted and organised.

Please leave it at the office or send it in with your child.

Thank you

Miss Marsh

Y5/6 Rounders tournament 🏏

Y5/6 did great today at the rounders tournament, we got lots of rounders and hit the ball far plenty of times! Well done Y5/6, you have done Carcroft School proud.

Sports for champions 🥇

I am excited to announce that we have an athlete visiting school Monday 4th July 2022.

Children should have come home with a sponsor form tonight, sponsor forms are due in Tuesday 28th June 2022.

Sponsor forms should be handed in to class teachers or the office once all sponsor money has been collected.

This is a great opportunity for the children to meet a GB athlete and raise money for school at the same time.

Football fanatics ⚽️🥅

We had an amazing day playing 9 other school teams at our football tournament. It was a steady start then we put all our effort in and won out of league 2!!!! Scoot to school! 🛴

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am delighted to let you know Carcroft School is participating in a Scoot to School scheme funded by Doncaster MBC. The school has received 20 scooters and helmets and scooter storage. These will be available to be used in school time by all pupils.

To celebrate the start of Scoot to School we are having a Scoot to School Day! It is a fun day that encourages children and their families to come to school on their scooters. We would love you all to get involved so if your child doesn’t have a scooter you can walk, cycle, or skate to school instead.

We know there are some things that make it more difficult for some pupils to get involved. If you would like to discuss more about your child(ren)’s specific needs, please contact (insert name) and we will make sure there is a way your child can take part.

Scoot to School Day will be taking place on Thursday 19th May 2022

What activities will be taking place on Scoot to School Day?

Wheel around school session: There will be a designated time and space for the children to be able to use their scooters, skates and bikes at school.

Dr Scoot: Active Travel Officer Chris Pryor will be carrying out scooter checks to ensure that they are safe and will make any minor repairs that are needed.

Launch the Scoot to School Challenge: each class will be competing to win the challenge by recording the most Scoot to School journeys over a 4 week period.

We really hope you can get involved and join in the fun.

Kind Regards,

Chris Pryor and Miss Marsh

Modeshift Active Travel Officer
