This afternoon, we shared our final product, which was a science expo, with our parents. A HUGE THANK YOU to all the parents that joined us. It was great seeing so many of you turning up but also being fully engaged in the activity.
The crew were rather nervous today but I’m sure you’ll agree that they absolutely smashed it. I am beyond proud of them.
If you have an feedback regarding the Science expo, we would really appreciate your feedback. You can send this in with your child or catch me on the door at the end of the day tomorrow.
Once again thanks for joining us!
Children in KS1 have been reading collaboratively to read their texts in phonics. We have had some speedy ready as well as fantastic compression skills!

In Maths, we have been learning about statistics and in particular line graphs. Being able to draw an accurate line graph is quite a tricky skill to learn so we spent some time practicing how to draw line graphs. As part of this, we used varying number increments on the graph so children started to understand that they won’t always go up in 1s or 2s.
Today we made a start on section 3 of our SLCs (which stands for student led conferences). This is so we can practise for January so we know what to say and are confident to present.
Next, we engaged in some active magic maths; we went around the class to answer consolidation fraction arithmetic questions which were stuck around the room. Watch us here in action…

We also started our CS3 computing, we learnt about coding and some interesting facts about binary (this is the language of computer systems).
We also fitted in some rehearsal practise so we felt ready for our presentation of learning on Thursday and to ensure it would be out of this world! – Connor
LKS2 have been learning how to effectively use water paints, for a background in their third and final Case Study! This is to create the effect of smoke, as would have been seen in British cities during the Blitz!

After completing backgrounds, Years 3 and 4 were then preparing to practice a variety of sketching techniques in preparation for sketching landmarks that will from part of the same piece of art, so please keep your eyes peeled!

Today we continued with our ICT work. We created our own sprite based on Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman to travel in space. We followed the instructions carefully then started to create our own back drop. Some great support was given today by our peers which was lovely to see.

Today we consolidated the learning we had just done around decimals by taking part in a kahoot quiz! Such engagement by all!

Today, we completed a tough Crew Challenge of passing a ball with different body parts. It was a great laugh watching how we passed the ball!

We also dressed in our football shirts to celebrate the big game later! Check out the fantastic football following from today!
