Crew MI and Crew Boswell have loved playing the guitars today with Mr Smith. This is something that they have really enjoyed since November.

In XP outdoors this week we have made autumn pictures using the natural resources in our forest.

This week in XP outdoors we have made stick people , photo frames and jumped in muddy puddles.

We had an exciting delivery today in Crew Welburn…Some new play-dough resources had been delivered to help us with our fine motor skills so that we can make our fingers nice and strong! It was a very popular area of provision all day, and the grown ups were all really impressed with how well the children were challenging themselves to use the new tools and to use their fine motor skills, and focussing on what they were doing

In crew today, we created animals out of leaves, can you guess which animals we made?

Today we looked at the different parts of the human body: head, shoulders, knees and toes.
We also looked at the 5 senses. Ask us if we can remember all 5?

We have had such a wonderful first few weeks back at school and the children’s enthusiasm for learning is wonderful to see especially when we have been learning about circuits. The children in LKS2 have enjoyed investigating how circuits work and what happens in additional equipment is added. They particularly enjoyed adding a switch and buzzer to their circuits. The children have demonstrated fantastic HOWLs by listening to each other carefully when creating their own circuits.
During our hook week, the children in LKS2 enjoyed learning about what plants needs to survive and of course the different parts of a flowering plant. They even planted their very own seed, we cannot wait to watch them grow.
We also learned about sustainability and shared the different ways that we can be more sustainable at school and at home. The children created some eye catching posters to remind others as well as making their own pledge. It was wonderful to see the children share their praises and notices for each other’s posters. The children were eager to share their ideas and they could explain how some small changes can make a big difference.
Wow, wow, wow!!!! What a fantastic afternoon we had in MI consolidating some of the arithmetic skills we needed more practice on. Yesterday we unpicked our test paper, looking at different examples together and we also used each other as effective coaches. Today we applied what we had practised yesterday and took part in a carousel of activities to really challenge our arithmetic skills. We rotated round a variety of fraction stations, decimal stations and also looked at different written methods. We were given a partner who we had to support throughout the afternoon and what a fantastic job we all did. Some amazing learning and such wonderful positive attitudes were shown throughout. I am incredibly proud of the learning that took place!
