Inputs in computing

In computing, we started the lesson by recapping the different parts of the computer and the purpose of these parts. We then started to investigate inputs which was focused on type buttons we have on different devices. When we press buttons, we are giving the computer commands and asking it to perform a job. We then designed our own robot thinking about the commands we would like to be able to give it. Miss Shields modelled drawing a robot that could do her weekly shop but most importantly put the groceries away. It was great seeing the children confidently sharing their robot design in-front of the rest of their crew.

Crew Ramsay working hard in Mathematics

We have been mastering the skill of writing numbers in both digits and words. We also had to use our phonics skills in Maths today in order to support us to ‘Get Smart’. For some of us, we also had to show perseverance as it was a little bit tricky at times. But everyone worked hard to try and complete the task. We demonstrated to Mrs Atherton that at our school we never give up, we work hard to support one another using things such as the working walls to help.

Parts of a computer

Last week in computing, we learned about the different parts of a computer and ensured that we knew the correct names to use. We discussed the purpose of each part of the computer so we understood their job. Children then completed a task where they had to label the different parts of a computer independently which they did a great job of.

Carcroft Crew Graffiti Project

Today we worked together as a whole school crew to design and create our very own graffiti wall! With the support of expert graffiti artists, we learned new skills and used our creativity to celebrate everything that makes Crew special. From sharing ideas and sketching designs, to choosing colours and spraying the final masterpiece, we collaborated as one team to bring our vision to life. Our graffiti wall now stands as a bold reminder that when we work together, we can achieve something amazing!
