Grammar in MI

Today we consolidated our learning on semi colons. We are getting much more confident when using a semi colon in our writing. We will apply our learning to our next piece of writing later in the week.

Using a scale factor in maths in MI

Today we continued our work on ratio by looking at how we use a scale factor to enlarge shapes. Great work today MI, such positive attitudes throughout. You also supported each other to achieve by working collaboratively. Fab Howls this morning 🙂

Caring crew in MI

Today we recognised how we are feeling and how we regulate our thoughts and behaviour. We talked about what makes us happy and sad then compared this to being angry and calm. During our crew activity, we played a game where we voiced an emotion and talked about a time when we have felt the emotion. This was a great opportunity to share different feelings and emotions with our mini crew. Our debrief included discussions on positive thoughts and having a positive attitude. We discussed that its ok to not be ok but we discussed how we help ourselves to achieve the best versions of us.

New Room

As you’ve been made aware, we are moving classroom. Due to some furniture being moved this evening, children will need to enter through their new door (opposite the bike shed) in the morning. Myself and Mrs Rhodes will be out to greet the children and we did inform the children about this earlier today. They will also leave through this door tomorrow afternoon. This will ensure children have an idea of the new set up before we go off and prepare them for the change in environment.

Thank you
Miss Shields

Bedtime Books in KS1

In our crews, we voted that bedtime stories make us feel all warm and cosy inside! We love to read stories and so many of our children are so eager to share the stories we read in school with their grown ups and siblings at home.

We would like to invite children to select a book on a Friday to take home for the week to share at bedtime with the families. We have so many to choose from and the children are excited to do so!

You can help us by:

  • Keep your bedtime book safe in your book bag when you are walking to and from school with it.
  • Keep your bedtime book in a safe place at home away from pets, food and drink. It’s so hard to turn sticky pages!
  • Return your bedtime book on a Friday, ready to change.

What happens if I forget to bring my book on a Friday?

  • Don’t worry, please bring it in as soon as you can and you can change it.
  • We will remind you which bedtime book you have.
  • If you lose a book and cannot find it, please let your crew leaders know. If you lose more than one book you may be asked to replace the book.
