As part of our music case study, the children have been given the opportunity to write their favourite song on a piece of paper and place it in a cup.
During our end of dy crew, we choose a song, listen and then decide whose favourite song it might be. We definitely know some of our crew well as we’ve managed to guess who it belongs to.
We’re looking forward to hearing all the rest of the songs over the next few weeks.
This morning it was the turn of Esme to share her interests out of school. Esme, just like Kaitlynn, regularly attends dancing comps and dances in different styles. She was going to show us some tap dancing but she changed her mind.
Lovely to see all the talent Crew Shields have.
So this week in xp outdoors we’ve worked on our team building skill.
On Thursday morning, we continued with a crew member showing some of their talents.
It was the turn of Kaitlynn who is an avid dancer. She often takes parts on comps and shares her successes the us.
After Kaitlynn showcased her talent, the question of the day was: Does Kaitlynn even have a spine? What do you think?

This morning in crew we had the pleasure of viewing the art work of Kaylum and we have decided that children will have more opportunities to share their interests with us.
Kaylum is a budding artist and often brings in stuff for our tabletop display. He has brought in his sketchbook from home today and we are truly blown away. I’m sure you will as well.

We have set Kaylum a challenge – Can he create us a sign for our door that says Crew Shields surrounded by images that reminds him of people in the crew. Watch this space…
So at break time the year 6’s played cricket. They achieve lots of team building.

This morning, our check-in was to spell out our names using exercise although we did tweak it slightly to make it more classroom-friendly. Here’s a glimpse of what it looked like. Do you think you could manage to spell out your name?

This morning for our crew challenge, Mrs Rhodes introduced us to a new game. The children had to work as 2 groups. They stood on the line and choose a crew leader. It was the crew leaders job to instruct the rest of the crew so they had to listen carefully to their instructions. They could move forward or back but had to move as a group. When the other group was close they could charge. The objective was the tag as many of the other team as possible and get them to join the opposite team. This was a lovely activity as it showed us who were risk takers or who like to play it on the safe side. Not only were they building crew but having good fun as well.
