Grand Designs: Phase One

As part of our ongoing school upgrades and rebranding now that we are part of the XP Trust, a team have spent most of today updating our school entrance. The space has been totally transformed and now truly reflects the incredible work going on throughout school: our values are now clear for all to see, children’s beautiful work is on show and our approach to Crew is visible to all.

The pictures below provide a glimpse into what the XP Comms Crew have designed, but please do bob in and see the changes for yourself. More updates will be taking place in lots of different areas across school and we cannot wait to share those with you in the near future.

Did you know that Carcroft School and our latest KS1 Expedition were featured in the Doncaster Free Press?

The article is all about how our beautiful work now has pride of place within Flamingo Land Resort in Malton, North Yorkshire.

We’re so proud of all the hard work that KS1 put into ‘Animals and their habitats’ and it’s so lovely to see it being celebrated by the Free Press!

Chocolate and shake! 🍫🥛

This week I had the pleasure of doing ‘chocolate and milkshake’ with children from both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. The quality of handwriting across the school blew me away and it was so nice to see a high standard of handwriting in Expedition books as well as The Write Stuff books. The children really enjoyed their treat of milkshake 🥛 and a yummy chocolate bar🍫 , which was well deserved! Well done to all of them! 👍🙌👏 Keep up the great handwriting and beautiful presentation!

This week we had Lacey-Rose from Crew Flaherty, Charlie from Crew Ferguson, McKenzie from Crew Gerrard, Lewis from Crew McLoughlin and Esme from Crew Marsh! Well done to all of you! 👏🙌👍

Handwriting Golden Ticket Winners! ⭐

This week I had the great pleasure of celebrating handwriting across school as Miss Laing is currently not in school and as Writing Lead I was given the privilege to lead this.

I could see a great improvement in the Children’s handwriting especially Abigail’s in Crew McLoughlin. I was also blown away with the quality of work in KS2 and it was so lovely to hear Leah read her ‘Greatest Showman’ writing. 💕

Have a look at the pictures below to see the high quality of writing across school… Well done all of you! ⭐🤩👍🙌👏📝✏

Fab First day back!

We’ve had such a lovely day! So many smiling faces, the classrooms were filled with chatter and laughter and the eeriness or lockdown was finally behind us. Our school felt how it should after many months of feeling very strange. CPS we have missed you all!

Day 1 was a huge success.. now on to the rest of the term. We’ve made a few changes over the last few months because we wanted to use the lockdown period to further improve what we do in school to make it a better place for our students. I will sent out a newsletter tomorrow.

As you may have heard, pupils are venturing out and about in the community in the next few days. We want to provide more opportunities for active learning within our curriculum and this is the first step! Field work in our local community; we will post photos and videos of the students to show case their adventures. Watch this space.
