The Triangle of Risk

Today in Crew Godley we have begun to explore staying safe on the road, this is everyone’s job! By using the ‘Triangle of Risk’ we have discovered that road safety has three important parts – the road, the vehicle, and the person.

  • The Road – Is it wet or dry? Busy or quiet? Are there signs and crossings to help us stay safe?
  • The Vehicle – Is it working properly? Are seatbelts on? Are bikes and scooters in good condition?
  • The Person – Are we paying attention? Wearing a helmet? Following the rules and making safe choices?

We explored these three sides to see how their actions matter. Even small safe choices – like looking both ways, wearing a helmet and putting your phone away!
