This week we had the opportunity to take part in Scotty’s Heroes due to year 6 completing sats.
Children spent the session working collaboratively and on their communication skills. Well done to Alicia who was star of the lesson. 🌟

In writing, we have been working on some planning to support us with our plot points when we start writing. We have generated ambitious vocabulary and spoke about the importance of using words that we know the meaning of. This allows us to magpie ideas and use language we’d expect to see in year 5.
We had lots of fun outside for crew today! We took our chalks and drew lots of different vehicles. We had rockets, aeroplanes, busses, cars and even trains! 🚗

Reflections on our time at Carcroft, so many amazing memories to look back on! The children are really going to miss Carcroft school.

After our reading paper we did a HIIT workout today. We definitely worked up a sweat!

Well done to Shelby, Evelynn, James, Joshua and Skyla-Rose who all read three time last week and had their reading record books signed.
Enjoy your treats!!
I wonder if we can have more children being rewarded this week?
Did we manage to find the King his crown at the London Eye? The answer is no! We loved creating the London Eye outside and understanding how the pods constantly moved. We also loved watching videos of the views you can see from the eye. I cannot wait to read the writing tomorrow!

We have been working hard this afternoon to develop our own commemorative, coronation coins. We had some fantastic ideas about what we should include, including the King 🤴 a crown 👑 a lion 🦁or a flag 🇬🇧

We have enjoyed lots of fun activities linked to the coronation of King Charles. We started by making our own crowns, decorating them with lots of sparkly sequins, pom poms and glittery paper.

Then, we made our own crown shaped biscuits for us to eat at our special party on Friday. We made sure that we washed our hands properly before we mixed our ingredients together. We rolled our dough out and used the cutter to shape it into a crown before Mrs Rafter put them in the oven to bake. The following day, we used icing and sprinkles to decorate our biscuits ready to taste at our party! 🎉

On Friday, it was time to party! Aimee and the kitchen staff very kindly prepared party food for us and we all sat and enjoyed a picnic, before tucking into our delicious biscuits!

Once we had eaten and tidied away it was time to turn the music up and have a dance! 🕺💃
