In case study 2, we are now starting to look at an another hero A NURSE!
Yesterday, we got to meet Nurse Welburn, we learnt all about where nurses work and what jobs they do when they are there. We even got to dress up as a nurse!
Crew MI continue to blow me away with their writing. Children are trying so hard with their sentence structure and are really taking on board critique. We have all really enjoyed our first writing unit, children have produced their own narrative and have shown incredible progress throughout the cycle of writing.
We have had a fantastic time at our football tournament, shown kindness throughout, cheering each other on and giving it our best! Well done team Carcroft, proud of you all!
This week we extended our knowledge on French greetings and discuss a range of greetings to use throughout the day. Once we were secure, we got creative and drew our own pictures to represent certain times of the day. Our partner then had to guess the correct French phrase to match our picture. We then played a game of 3,2,1 Show Me. Miss McGlone showed us an image on the board and we had to write the French greeting on our whiteboards before being counted down to reveal our answers!
Today we were very lucky to have a visit from Nurse Welburn who is a children’s nurse in a hospital. She brought lots of equipment for us to look at and even showed us how to use it. The children asked her lots of questions and talked about their own experiences of visiting the hospital. We then did a carousel of activities including dressing up and colouring. Thank you to Nurse Welburn for coming to see us all.
Charlie has been working hard at home to create his own Roman book called “Roman Rampage”. Charlie shared this in crew this morning and we were all blown away with the information in it. Charlie had included lots of expedition knowledge about the Romans and included his own drawings to support his writing! ✏️✍️
This week in P.E Crew Boswell have been working on their ball skills and were ready to play a game.
This week in reading, Crew Thompson used text marking to help unpick the text. We started new pages this week so it was really important to get a good understanding of the text and what the key words meant. In our next book talk lesson, we will use our text marking to help create a class glossary of these key words. This will really help us in our demonstration lesson later on in the week.
