Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog 25.2.2021

Thursday ✅

We’ve got really smart today in Crew Welburn by sharing our ideas in expedition. We worked well as a crew to add more detail to our castle timelines, and we’ve all written some descriptions to show how the castles changed over time.🌟

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Charlie 👏

Get smart: Scarlett 👏

Be kind: Harrylee 👏

HOWL Score: 3.1 Well done Crew Welburn! 🌟🌟

Crew Shields and Crew Longley – 24/2/21

Another busy day in Crew Shields/Longley. The children have been exploring Roman mosaics where they were given the opportunity to create their own collage/mosiac. It was fantastic seeing the children’s different takes on these patterns and their methods to create shapes. We had emojis, trees, stars and patterns using colour.

A child’s definition was: Mosaics are coloured shapes put together to tell a story or make an image.
I couldn’t have put it better myself.

Crew Longley Average:  3.0

Crew Shields Average : 2.8

Targets for this week : 3.2

How can we improve?

To further improve, children need to take pride in their learning and ensure they are producing beautiful learning consistently.

Crew Shields Work Hard Howl Hero – Ava
Ava has had more of a positive attitude towards her learning and attempted everything today without giving up. She demonstrated active listening which has shown in today’s learning.

Crew Longley Work Hard Howl Hero – Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn has been trying really hard this week to take onboard all the feedback she has been provided in writing. This was shown today by composing sentences that met the learning target and punctuated accurately.

Crew Wilson Daily Blog : 24.2.21

We have had another jam packed day in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the day:

A passing comment in our crew session led us onto a tangent all about space this morning!  We watched the Mars rover land and had a look at how big the planets really are – we were blown away and couldn’t believe how small earth is!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard : Tia for her brilliant attitude to learning today, welcome back!

Get Smart: Daisy for thinking critically and coming up with some great facts about castles.

Be Kind: Toby, Finn and Dalton for being kind on the playground and showing their friends how to play a game that they could all be involved in.

Howl Average:

3.3 – a good improvement with some better listening ears today, let’s keep it going!

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 24.02.21

Wonderful Wednesday!

Yay! Happy Hump Day! 🙌

Star moment of the day:

Today’s star moment today has got to be the amazing fact files that the children created in our Expedition lesson this afternoon. I was blown away with how many facts the children had retained from Monday’s lesson and how well they were able to present these to inform others about Boudicca and Julius Caesar.

Todays HoWL average is: 2.7

Another slight dip today but I feel this is down to a few crew members being absent which meant they received 1’s and also due to a few fall outs at lunch time today.

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Elmer need to make sure that they attend school if they can in order to avoid those 1’s and those crew members that are in school need to ensure that they are ‘being kind’ at all times of the school day, especially crew playtimes.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Harry. Harry was praised by several of his crew members for being really kind at crew playtimes today. I nominated Harry for HoWL hero for ‘working hard’ in every lesson today! Harry blew us away with his drama work in ‘The Write Stuff’ as well as his fact files in Expedition this afternoon! Great work Harry! Well done! 🙌😁⭐👏

Crew Kent Blog 24.2.21

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Grace – for real effort in Writing to scale up her writing.

Get smart: Skyler – for great improvement on her Math’s tests scores.

Be kind: Mrs. Gilliland – for supporting the class and it’s many injuries.

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.1! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Crew Marsh: 24/2/21

✨Star moment✨

Star moment today was seeing everyone create their own ideas for our new Carcroft logo, it was great to hear what the children thought represented us as a School and then to see their ideas come to life. 😁😁

Average is: 2.7 😢😢

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh need to think about how they can be a better crew, at the minute we are quick to upset each other rather than being kind and building each other up…. food for thought.

Howl hero:

Get Smart hero today is Millie!

Millie has consistently made sure her books look beautiful! She always follows the guide in the front and it has impressed me since coming back after half term. Well done you! 😁👌

Crew Flaherty 24.2.21

Hollie for producing a beautiful sketch of Lincoln Castle.

Be Kind

Billy for helping his crew friends in lessons

I wonder who our HOWL heroes will be tomorrow.

Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog 24.2.2021

Wednesday ✅

Today, we have enjoyed spending time together as a crew. We’ve worked really hard to keep each other on green, and we think our HOWL score shows this! We also really enjoyed our expedition lesson because we learnt all about timelines and used some new words to describe the events on our timeline – oldest and newest. We made sure our expedition work was beautiful and helped each other as mini crews on our tables.🌟

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Frankie 👏

Get smart: Nathan 👏

Be kind: Jamie 👏

I would also like to say that I could have given ‘Be Kind’ to any member of Crew Welburn today as they have all been so kind to each other and to the adults, all day. You’ve made me so proud Crew Welburn!

HOWL Score: 3.4 Amazing Crew Welburn! What superstars you are! 🌟🌟

23.02.21 – Crew Boswell

Another busy day today but we’ve produced some great storyboards ready for our new unit of writing!  We also worked hard in maths, especially with our arithmetic and ended the day learning how to jive.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.3

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1

I wonder if…

I wonder if we can keep this positive attitude going throughout all of our learning, even when it’s not our favourite subject.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart HoWL Hero today is Heidi!

Heidi has simply devoured her work today.  Not only completing what was expected of her but going beyond that and then even managing to support the rest of her crew with some of their learning, which was great to see!

Crew Shields and Crew Longley – 23/2/21

What a busy day! In writing, the children have been continuing to write their narrative about Theseus and the Minotaur. It was lovely to see the children using a wide range of vocabulary to describe the beast. The children are becoming more independent and coming up with some lovely sentences.

Crew Longley Average:  2.9

Crew Shields Average : 2.4

Targets for this week : 3.2

How can we improve?

To further improve, the children need to ensure that they are listening carefully to instructions to ensure they know what they are doing.

Crew Shields Get Smart Howl Hero – Reece
Reece has been trying really hard to ensure that he is improving the presentation of his learning so he is producing beautiful learning. He also remembered how to use column subtraction which is something he found tricky before Christmas. Well done.

Crew Longley Get Smart Howl Hero – Shiloh and Isabella
Shiloh and Isabella returned to school today and it was like they’d never been away. They settled well and tried their best with all their learning. Well done.
