Crew Marsh:3/3/21

Star moment

Star moment today was seeing the children produce beautiful work in their writing books, I can see that they are really taking care and making sure their presentation is up to the high expectations. Well done Crew Marsh, keep it up!👍😁

Average is: 2.6 😢 – I feel sad about today’s score because our week started off so strong.

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh’s target tomorrow is to make sure they are concentrating on their learning and not as much talking, today this seems to have been all day and I have had to constantly remind children about what working hard and getting smart looks like.

Howl hero:

Get smart hero today is Frankie!

Frankie your presentation has massively improved since the start of the year, this makes me feel so proud and hope you are just as proud of your work. You have also got a lot quicker in speed when completing work, this shows how much you have grown in confidence, Well done Frankie! 💕

Year 6 Transition

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week, the majority of children will have found out which secondary school they have been allocated for September. This is such an exciting time and we hope both you and them are pleased with the school they have been allocated.

As part of our transition process, we will share lots of information about your child to ensure their new school knows them in as much detail as possible and can be ready to support them from day one.

As part of this, we would like to gather information from you that you feel is important to share or that you would want your child’s new school to know.

In order to share your views and information, please click this link. This will take you to a secure Google Form with questions to answer about your child. All information provided is kept secure in line with GDPR guidelines and only shared with the named contact at your child’s new school. Please answer the questions in as much detail, and as honestly, as you can as this will really help ensure your child’s new school is able to support them in Year 7.

If you have any questions about transition, please do not hesitate to contact school.

Crew Shields – 2/3/21

A busy day as always in Crew Shields with the children giving all their learning 100%. I love the determination of Crew Shields to improve and ensure they are working together. It was delightful seeing the children collaborate on their ideas for the logo rebrand. They negotiated and reasoned their thought process for the elements for a logo.

Crew Shields Average : 2.9

Targets for this week : 3.2

How can we improve?

To further improve, children need to develop their pace when completing their learning.

Crew Shields Work Hard Howl Hero – Lacey
Lacey has blown me away in RWI this week as she is trying really hard to remember her sounds and to be able to read them in nonsense words. I love her determination and positive attitude to learning.

Tiring Tuesday! 💤

This morning we started Crew with lots of children saying that they were in the blue zone because they felt tired! I think that this is due to it being the first week back and it taking a while for some of us to adjust! Hopefully after a rest this weekend we will be more alert next week! Only a few more days to go until the weekend!

Star moment of the day:

Today’s star moment has got to be our ‘Write Stuff’ lesson this morning. I was blown away with both the quality and quantity of the writing that children produced when writing their cast lists for their playscripts. The children included expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbials, conjunctions and similes and ensured that their writing was structured correctly. I was also impressed with some of the children’s handwriting, Sienna and Kacey-Leigh you blew me away today! ✏📝

Todays HoWL average is: 3.0

Yay! This is where we need to be! It was great to see that we were back on track to achieving our HoWL target this week! 😁

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow we need to continue to be kind to each other at all times and make sure that we are working hard to achieve beautiful work. Some children also need to make sure that they complete work when asked to and that they chat less during lesson time!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Kacey-Leigh! Kacey-Leigh was praised by several members of the crew for being kind and working hard today. Miss Hart and myself praised Kacey-Leigh for the beautiful work that she produced in the ‘Write Stuff’ this morning. Her handwriting was beautifully joined and she had taken great pride in the presentation of work and made sure that it was structured according to purpose. Amazing work Kacey-Leigh and a great example for the rest of the crew to look at! Well done! 🙌😁⭐👏

Crew Gerrard (2/3/21)

Tuesday complete! In Crew Gerrard, we started our morning off by thinking about our logo design further. We will continue this tomorrow and it is exciting to see what the children think about their school. They have also been working hard in expedition, looking into where the best place to launch a rocket was, which was a highlight for the day. Our HoWL heroes:

Work Hard: Sapphire for listening carefully in writing and for showing fantastic effort 😁

Get Smart: Tyler for listening carefully when working online during maths 😃

Be Kind: Kian for being a really caring person to an upset friend this morning. Your friend is lucky to have you 😄

Our score was 2.9 today, so I’m hoping to see that improve tomorrow! 😆

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 2.3.2021

Highlight of the day:

We have worked really hard today in our maths lesson, where we have compared groups of objects using numbers 0-20. The tricky teen numbers were a challenge for us but by the end of the lesson we had smashed it and got all of our questions right, well done for using those listening ears today Crew Wilson!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This goes to Finn today for creating a beautiful castle non-chronological report, taking his time to ensure his work was the best quality that he could produce.

Get Smart: This goes to Aleks for speaking up in maths and explaining his reasoning to the crew, well done!

Be Kind: This goes to Dalton for assisting his crew when they got stuck with their maths work today, great work!

Howl Average:

2.5 – a slight increase from yesterday but we still have some work to do on ‘getting smart’, as we have had too many reminders today about sitting and listening to the teacher. Let’s keep working on this Crew Wilson, we have the ability to be amazing we just need to listen to instructions the first time!
