Crew Kent Blog 3.11.20

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Maxi 🧑

Get smart: Crystal 👩

Be kind: Grace 👩

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.4! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Well done Crew Kent 👍

Crew Shields – 3/11/20

Today in Maths, the children have really had to make their brains work by starting to exchange hundreds for tens. This has been quite tricky at times but they have preserved over the last few weeks and it is starting to click into place. I know with more practice we will be experts at exchanging when subtracting.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields need to be more resilient when they are faced with a challenge. E.g. computing.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Kind hero today is Georgie!

Georgie is one of the most helpful children in Crew Shields. She is constantly supporting her peers and nothing is ever too much trouble. This afternoon she has supported every child in computing by being an expert in using Scratch.

Crew Flaherty Daily Blog 2.11.20

A magical, marvellous Monday in Crew Flaherty today. It was lovely to see everyone at school today even on this wet and windy day.

HOWLs

Our HOWL average for the day was a fantastic 3.2.

HOWL heroes

Work Hard

Lacey-Rose for challenging herself in maths.

Get Smart

Chase for listening carefully and including an expanded noun phrase in his writing.

Be Kind

Thomas for being a kind friend in his crew.

I wonder who will be our HOWL heroes tomorrow.

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 02.11.20

Yay! 🤩 Welcome back Crew Elmer! 🖐 I hope that you are all feeling refreshed and ready for some exciting learning this half term! 📝

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today I have been blown away by just how excited Crew Elmer were to be back at school and with the rest of their crew members. It was lovely to hear so many of the children say that they were in the ‘green zone’ because they were happy to be back at school after so many days off! Well it’s lovely to have you all back Crew Elmer 🤗

There were many other ‘star moments’ today such as how much the children had retained whilst being off school, how many pieces of standard homework I received, as well as how much extra work children had brought in to share! Also two children had completely read their library books all half term! 👏

The children were amazing at creating their own newspaper companies and alliterative headlines in ‘The Write Stuff’ today as part of our experience day and they also blew me away with their maths knowledge of ‘exchanging’. Overall a really successful first day back! 👍 If the rest of the half term is going to be like this then we sure are going to be ‘super smart’! ⭐

Todays HoWL average is: 3.5

WOW! To say that today is our first day back this is an AMAZING HoWL average Crew Elmer! 🙌 BIG well done to you! 👏 I wonder though… can we keep this up?

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.3

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that they are as fab tomorrow as they were today! 🤞

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Yet again we had two very close contenders for HoWL hero today… and both for ‘being kind’ but as a crew we decided that Harley deserved the HoWL hero for today as he has been playing with the girls at crew play times today and they all praised how kind he had been. Other crew members also praised how kind and helpful he had been in class and I recognised how kind he was with helping me sort out the laptops so that everyone could access Google Classroom. Remember if you need any assistance with this prior to having to ‘isolate’ or ‘lockdown’ then don’t hesitate to send me a ‘dojo’ message and I will send you the details that you will require should this happen.

Crew Marsh: 2/11/20

My star moment today was seeing all of the children’s faces, after what seems like forever! We have had a lovely day, with the lots of learning. I was particularly impressed with our math lesson today, everyone worked super hard and got really smart!!

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.4! 👍😁

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 2.7

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow, Crew Marsh needs to improve their listening skills when in crew time.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart hero today is Jessica!

Jessica has blown me away today! She has worked really hard in every lesson and made sure her worked looked incredibly neat. Well done Jessica, I am so proud of you, keep up the hard work!!💕

Crew Shields – 2/11/20

Today the children have really enjoyed dodge ball in PE. This helped us work on our Crew skills and our coordination in sports. There was an overall theme of honesty and being truthful if you were out.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.1

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields need to ensure we are always being kind with our words.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart hero today is Maddie!

Maddie worked really well in Maths today. She took on board what had been modelled so she could independently complete some problems. Well done!

Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog Post 2.11.20

Get smart: Kyden😁

Be kind: Charlie😁

Our HOWL average was 3.4 today. Keep it up 🙌

Crew Godley Daily Blog

Welcome back! What a wet and windy day we’ve had. This did not dampen our spirits 😊

The children really enjoyed our PE session today, they really impressed Miss Ferguson  with their underarm throwing and catching skills ⚾ We were so pleased to see children in the correct PE uniform, we would love to see more children in their kit, which should be plain blue/black/grey joggers/leggings and white t-shirt. We will be asking parents to bring in the correct uniform if children are in ‘non uniform’- we pride ourselves on high expectations, if the children look smart – they will work hard!

HoWL Heroes

Being Kind – SJ volunteered to be to be someone’s partner in PE, he saw that this child was upset and was very kind!

Getting Smart – Evelynn confidently used Fred talk to segment sounds in words to write characters from a story.

We are hoping tomorrow some children might achieve ‘Working Hard’ as almost all crew members today needed reminding what this looks like in the classroom.

Crew Mcloughlin Blog 02.11.20

What a great first day back Crew Mcloughlin have had! The children fully immersed themselves into our hook day for expedition and we have all thoroughly enjoyed taking part! Apologies for any children going home worrying about an anonymous hacker taking over school… tomorrow will be back to normal.

Here are todays HoWL heroes which was such a tough choice as it could have been any of the children!

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 02/11/2020

We have had a brilliant first day back in Crew Wilson, we have flown through our learning and couldn’t believe how quickly home time came around!

Highlight of the day:

We have watched our Expedition video that showed all of our learning from the previous half term, and had a discussion around what we did. It was fantastic to hear the children recap their learning and explain the reasoning behind what we did, I hope we learn as much from our new expedition as we did in the last one!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard : Tommy T – for consistently applying himself to every lesson today, keep it up Tommy!

Get Smart: Aleks – for having his hand up to answer every question today , well done Aleks!

Be Kind: Tommy F – for looking out for his Crew and being a brilliant friend in the playground, fantastic work Tommy!

Howl Average:

3.5 – What a great start to the week – we’ve had some fantastic fours from a lot of the Crew,  we are aiming for green standard across the board all day every day! Let’s do it!
