Acro & cheer showcase

Today we had our final acro & cheer showcase of the year. It really put a smile on all of our faces seeing how far all of the children have come from attending lunch clubs this year. Well done everyone and thank you to Miss Ellie for facilitating it!

Athlete visit: Rebekah Green

We are excited to announce that this years athlete visiting school is Rebekah Green.

Rebekah has been kayaking for around 8 years, 4 of which have been in a playboat. Rebekah trains regularly at her local venue, Lee valley White Water Centre and also works at Above and Below Kayak retailer store on site

Until last year Rebekah had only ever competed in k1, but the opportunity of a new women’s category and the encouragement from team mates Ottie and Tamsyn inspired Rebekah to convert an old kayak into a c1.

Although this discipline ‘is challenging’ Rebekah has really enjoyed the process of progression, especially while training in the worlds feature at Holme Pierrepont.

Rebekah will be visiting school Monday 1st July!

Please bring sponsor forms in by Friday 28th June 10am, so it gives time to calculate the money and organise everything.

Sport for champion visit!

Due to loving our athlete visit last year and the year before ….

I am excited to announce that we have an athlete visiting school Monday 1st July 2024.

Children should come home with a sponsor form tomorrow (Friday 17th May), sponsor forms are due in Wednesday 19th June 2024.

Sponsor forms should be handed in to class teachers or the office.

This is a great opportunity for the children to meet a GB/ olympic athlete and raise money for school at the same time, as soon as we know who the school athlete is I will share the news.

In excitement of this, we are going to do a dress down in your sporty gear on Friday 24th May with a voluntary contribution of £1.

Acro and cheerleading showcase

I loved finishing the term with our acro and cheerleading showcase. It was amazing seeing the children show off their routines they have been practising. I know some of the children were nervous but I left feeling so proud of them all and it was lovely to see how proud they were too!

Festival of Sports continued… 🩰⚾️🏃‍♂️💨😅

How exciting and what an amazing opportunity for some of our children to experience! The final dance when all the schools came together was amazing and it really is a memory which will stay with our children I’m sure! They all took part in the activities and thoroughly enjoyed each one, boccia being a new one to try and they took to it like pro’s. Great sportsmanship from KS1 today well done 👏

Festival of sport 🏈🏐🎊

What an AMAZING day we have had today at Active Fusions festival of sport. We have participated in a range of activities such as rugby, seated volleyball, team building, ballet and taekwondo! We even got to run a lap on the track! 🏃‍♀️💨We had so much fun and can’t wait for the next one! 😃😃
